COLT ~ 1911 U.S. ARMY .45 AUTOMATIC

GOOD SHAPE...SHIPPED APRIL 29, 1918...C&R
NO RESERVE!! Here's a good looking Colt Model of 1911 U.S. Army .45 Automatic. This pistol is in very good overall condition with the great majority of the original
factory brushed blue finish remaining. The slide and frame appear to be original to one another...the markings on the slide being correct for the serial range and the
wear being equal between them. Most of the various other parts appear to be correct and original as well. The pistol has the correct hammer, correct safety, and
correct slide stop. I did note however that the barrel, while correctly marked with the "H P" over the chamber, appears to have been replaced at some point. Also, the
left grip has 13 rows of checkering between the large diamonds and is likely made by Colt, but slightly later than the pistol. The right grip has the expected 15 rows
of checkering. The bottom edge of the firing pin retainer has also been polished to smooth operation. As previously noted, this pistol retains most of the original
finish. There are some normal handling marks, sharp edge wear, and thinning to the grip straps. The mainspring housing is mostly silver. I'd grade the overall finish
at about 90%. There is no significant rust or pitting. The grips are in very good shape with a few marks but no cracks or chips. The mechanics are in good working
order and the bore is very good with sharp rifling that shows only a small amount of fine frost. This pistol comes with one period correct 2-tone magazine that is in
good condition but does have some moderate patches of pitting. According to available serial number information, this pistol was in a shipment of 5500 pistols that
left Colt's for Springfield Armory on April 29, 1918. A very nice looking pistol that was made early enough to have seen action in the trenches of France.

Buyer pays $20.00 shipping. Your C&R License is acceptable for transfer if permitted in your area.
