Lesson Plan in MAPEH 8

I. Objectives
At the end of the discussion the students are expected to:
a. To understand the benefits of exercise
b. To listen and follow instruction carefully
c. To perform each basic exercise in a correct and safe manner.

Topic: Fitness Awareness
Reference: MAPEH 8 book page 50-65
Materials: Pictures, cartolina and visual aid
Values: Appreciating and accepting one’s physical ability
Skills: Cooperation
III. Teaching-Learning Process
Method: 4A's
Routine Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
A. Motivation
Present a picture of different exercises and let the students analyze the
picture
B. Activity
Group the class into 3. Each group will present different kinds of
exercises duration of 2 minutes.
C. Analysis
After the activity the teacher will ask the following:
 Are you aware that over exercising is dangerous?
 Why do you think this happen?
 What possible solution can you suggest to a healthy body and
more energy?
D. Abstraction
Exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness
and overall health and wellness.
The following are the different benefits in exercising:
 Reduce your risk of heart attack
 Manage your weight better
 Have a lower blood cholesterol level
 Lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and some cancers
 Have lower blood pressure
 Have strong bones, muscles and joints and lower risk of
developing osteoporosis
 Lower your risk of falls
 Recover from better of periods of hospitalization or bed rest
 Feel better
E. Application
With the same group. Develop a concept map about the different
benefits of exercise. Each group will explain the various benefits of
exercising.
Group 1- Physical Benefits
Group 2-Psychological Benefits
Group 3- Intellectual Benefits
IV. Assessment
Write T if the statement is true. If the statement is false, write the word that will make the
statement true.
1. Water is the best fluid to take for replenishing during exercise.
2. Warm up first before stretching.
3. The best time of the day to exercise is one that fits one’s schedule.
4. As your conditioning level improves, ailments often occur.
5. Delayed onset of muscular pain occurs most frequently in poorly conditioned
individuals.
