Technical Wage type’s bifurcation

/001 - /099 - Valuation base wage types, Hourly Rates

/101 - /199 - Cumulation wage types - Gross, Net Deductions
/201 - /299 - Averages, AVERA, V_512W_C
/301 - /399 - Gross Earnings
/401 - /499 - Taxes
/501 - /599 - Net payments
/601 - /699 - Taxable Gross Earning
/701 - /799 - Reportable wage types
/801 - /899 - Absence Valuation, Proration (PC 10)

/3, Pretax, /6, /7 and /4 - tax related technical wage types

/710 YTD value till last period is $8500, MWB for this state $9000

/310 - $1000
-$100 Pre-tax
------------
/610 $900

/710 $500 - 10% is tax

/410 $50

/001 - /099 – Used to store hourly rates, these wage types can be taken as reference and can be used to pay OT
or any other wage types, which will input as hours.

/101-/199 – These wage types will hold collective amount of multiple wage types, example Gross wage type /101
will hold the sum of all payment wage types.
Net payments wage types /110 will hold the sum of all deduction wage types

/201-/299 – These wage types are used to store the average value.
Example you want to store an average of value of last 6 months for 4 wage types.

/501-/599 – These wage types are used to store net payments,

Example: /599 represents the net salary EE paid received.

/801-/899 – These wage types are used for both Absence valuation & Proration.
Suppose if there is an unpaid absence, EE salary should be reduced, this concept is called absence valuation and
we use /801-/899 wage types in this concept.

Suppose if the EE is active till 15th of the month and became withdrawn from 16th. He is not supposed to receive
complete salary, his salary has to be prorated (reduced), and we use /8 series wage types in proration.

/3 wage types are Gross Earnings

/6 wage types are Taxable Gross Earnings (/3 – Pre-tax = /6)
If there are no pre-tax deduction for the EE, then /3 and /6 value will be same.

/7 wage types Reportable wage types – These are the wage types on which EE paid tax on.
If there is MWB applicable for a tax type, then /6 and /7 will be different.
If there is no MWB, then /6 and /7 value will be same.

/4 wage types taxes, the tax amount will store in /4 wage types.

SAP sends /3 and /6 information to BSI.

BSI sends back /7 and /4 information to SAP.

7. Setup payroll period for CAP
8. Create Wage type catalog
9. Check Wage type group basic pay
10. Check Wage type text
11. Check Entry Permissibility per Infotype
12. Employee sub group grouping for Primary wage type
13. Personnel sub area grouping for Primary wage type
14. Define Wage type permissibility for each PS and ESG

Requirement: Configure 4 wage types,

1) Basic Pay
2) Project Allowance
3) Special Allowance
4) Conveyance

Project Allowance is 10% of Basic Pay

Special Allowance is 10% of Basic Pay & 10% of Project Allowance

WT WT Text Ind Val Mod Definition

Basic Pay TARIF Direct Amount (V_T510)
Project Allowance SUMME PA is 10% of BP
Special Allowance PRZNT SA is 10% of BP & 10% of PA
Conveyance CONST Direct Amount (V_T510K)

Navigation
1) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Define EE Subgroup Grouping for PCR and Coll.Agrmt.Prov.

2) Define reason for change

3) Check Pay Scale Type

43 Leather
4) Check Pay Scale Area
45 New York

5) Check Assignment of Pay Scale Structure to Enterprise Structure

Select your PA & PSA and assign pay scale type and pay scale area, you created.
Here you can default pay scale structure based upon PA & PSA

6) Determine default for pay scale data

Its feature TARIF, used to default pay scale structure
We can default either pay scale structure or pay grade structure by using TARIF feature

Return Value
43/45 - Pay Scale Structure (V_T510)
43/45/S - Pay Grade Structure (V_T710CL, SM34)

You will notice a difference in IT 0008

Pay Scale Structure – Pay Scale
Pay Grade Structure - Salary

In the previous step (Check Assignment of Pay Scale Structure to Enterprise Structure), we can default pay scale
structure only based upon PA & PSA, but in this step you can default based upon other decision parameters like
EG, ESG, country grouping, company code, Work Contract & Reason for action.

7) Set up payroll period for collective agreement provision

Pay Scale > Period Parameter Assignment
Assign period parameter (used for payroll area) to pay scale type and pay scale area

8) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Wage Types- Create wage type catalog

Use M010 model wage type to create 9801, 9802, 9803 & 9804 customer specific wage types.

9) Check wage type group 'Basic Pay'

This is just to cross check, if the entry is not there, create it.

10) Check Wage Type Catalog - Check wage type text

We can change the text of the wage types, if wrongly created initially

11) Check entry permissibility per Infotype

This step specifies what all the Infotypes, a wage type is permissible to use
For example a WT can be used in IT 0008, IT 0014 & IT 0015
12) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Wage Types- Employee Subgroups for Primary Wage Type

13) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Wage Types- Personnel Sub areas for Primary Wage Type

14) 12) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Wage Types- Check Wage Type Catalog - Define Wage
Type Permissibility for each PS and ESG

This grouping helps to restrict a WT being used for specific PSA’s and ESG’s
WT 9801 can be used for all PSA’s marked with PSG grouping 5, 6 and 7
WT 9801 can be used for all ESG’s marked with ESG grouping 5 and 6

WT 9802 can be used for only PSA’s marked with PSG grouping 5
WT 9802 can be used for only ESG’s marked with ESG grouping 5

15) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Wage Types - Check Wage Type Catalog- Check wage type
characteristics
16) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Revise Pay Scale Groups and Levels
Enter Pay scale type and area
Enter salary of the EE based upon the CAP grouping, pay scale grade and level.

17) Execute SM30, V_T510K

18) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Wage Types - Define valuation of base wage types
Maintain the below entries in this table
Valuated
Mod WT WT Text Sl No Start Date End Date Base WT WT Test Percentage
TARIF 9801 Basic Pay 1 01.01.1800 31.12.9999 9801 Basic Pay 100

PRZNT 9803 Special Allowance 1 01.01.1800 31.12.9999 9801 Basic Pay 100
PRZNT 9803 Special Allowance 2 01.01.1800 31.12.9999 9802 Project Allowance 100
19) Revise Default Wage Types

20) Enterprise Structure for Wage Type Model

This is LGMST feature, used to default wage type model (wage types)

Return value 10/SALARY1 – Here 10 indicates maximum number wage types can be defaulted.

21) SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Define annual salary- Wage type for annual salary
This is ANSAL feature, return value is ASAL

22) Payment frequency for annual salary

This is PFREQ feature, will tell number of pay periods in each pay frequency

23) Relevant wage types for annual salary valuation

Remove TARIF Indirect valuation module from wage type characteristics for WT 9801 to default pay grade
structure

Now change TARIF feature return value to 43/45/S

Configure the below nodes

SPRO – PM – PA – Payroll Data – Basic Pay - Check Total Salary Against Salary Range - Define Pay Grades And
