The exteriors of components and cables in this document are for reference only. The actual
exteriors may be different.

1 ITC Description
This document describes how to plan and deploy Integrated Tubular Cabinet and provides
information regarding component configurations, functions, and specifications of applicable
cabinets.
1.1 Structure
This section describes the exterior, structure, dimensions of the integrated tubular cabinet
(ITC).
1.2 Configurations
1.3 Engineering Specifications
This section describes input power specifications, equipment specifications, environmental
specifications, surge protection specifications, and standards compliance of the ITC.
1.4 Power Supply Requirements
This section describes the configurations of circuit breakers and cross-sectional areas of
power cables in a fully configured ITC that is providing the peak output power.
1.5 Power Distribution
This section describes the power distribution principles of the DTC in an ITC supplied with
110 V AC or 220 V AC power.
1.1 Structure
This section describes the exterior, structure, dimensions of the integrated tubular cabinet
(ITC).
Exterior
The ITC is silver white outside, as shown in the following figure.
Structure
The ITC adopts a modular structure, facilitating capacity expansion and maintenance. The
ITC consists of the equipment, extension, and antenna sections, and is 18 m or 24 m high. The
following figures show the overall structure and dimensions of the ITC.

l The user equipment needs to be placed vertically in the ITC. If the user equipment has a built-in fan,
it must have upper and lower air ducts (air flow direction from bottom to top) or front and rear air
ducts (air flow direction from front to rear.
l If the customer equipment does not have built-in fans but uses natural ventilation, a minimum of 1 U
space must be reserved to the left and right of the equipment slot to ensure heat dissipation.
NOTE
AC Power Input
The following table describes the power supply requirements of an ITC supplied with AC
power.
The power distribution principle in 220 V AC three-phase scenarios is the same as that in 220 V AC
single-phase scenarios, except that the three power inputs do not need to be connected by short-
circuiting bars in the 220 V AC three-phase scenarios.
Figure 1-12 and Figure 1-13 show the power distribution when 110 V and 220 V AC power
inputs are used, respectively. Table 1-6 describes the specifications of circuit breakers and
fuses.

2.1 BBU
The ITC houses BBUs. This section describes the exterior and functions of the BBU3900 and
BBU3910.
For details about BBU hardware, see BBU Hardware Description in 3900 Series Base
Station Product Documentation.
Exterior
A BBU, which has a case structure, is 19 inches wide and 2 U high.
Functions
A BBU performs the following functions:
l Provides ports for connecting to the transmission equipment, RF modules, USB devicesa,
external reference clock, and LMT or U2000 to transmit signals, perform automatic
software upgrade, receive reference clock signals, and support maintenance on the LMT
or U2000.
l Manages the entire base station system. The management involves uplink and downlink
data processing, signaling processing, resource management, and operation and
maintenance.
NOTE
a: The security of the USB port is ensured by encryption, and the USB port can be shut down using
commands. The USB commissioning port is used for commissioning the base station rather than
configuring and exporting information of the base station.
2.2 RF Module
The TubeStar solution uses RRUs.
For details about RRU hardware, see the corresponding RRU hardware descriptions, for
example, RRU3926 Hardware Description. For details, see RRU Hardware Description in
3900 Series Base Station Product Documentation.

NOTE
l When a short-circuiting bar is installed on the AC INPUT wiring terminal to connect the L1, L2, and
L3 terminals, the EPU subrack supplies 220 V AC single-phase power. If an EPU subrack supplies
220 V AC three-phase power, no short-circuiting bar is required.
l The 220 V AC EPU subrack uses gray circuit breakers, and the 110 V AC EPU subrack uses blue
circuit breakers.
l The battery loop connection switch can control the battery loop connectivity. If the indicator is off,
the loop is broken. If the indicator is on, the loop works properly.
l Before maintaining batteries, ensure that the battery loop connection switch is turned off.
Functions
The EPU05A-07 or EPU05A-09 subrack distributes AC and DC power.

The following figure shows the input and output terminals on an EPU05A-07 or EPU05A-09
subrack. Table 2-14 and Table 2-15 list the specifications of these input and output terminals.

Circuit Breaker
The EPU05A-07 or EPU05A-09 subrack has many circuit breakers which control multiple
outputs. The following figure shows the positions of circuit breakers and the following table
describes the specifications of the circuit breakers.
Exterior
The following figure shows the exterior of an R4850G2 PSU.
Functions
An R4850G2 PSU performs the following functions:
l Converts 110 V AC or 220 V AC into –48 V DC. Adjusts the output voltage through
the PMU.
l Provides protection against overcurrent, output overvoltage, and overheat.
l Dissipates heat using its built-in fans.
l Has the output power of 3000 W.
Indicators
The following figure shows the indicators of an R4850G2 PSU.
(3) Fault indicator Red Steady off The module is working properly.
NOTE
a: If the red indicator and green indicator are steady on and the yellow indicator is blinking, the module
is not securely installed in the slot.
b: An alarm can be triggered by the following external factors:
l The rectifier generates a pre-warning for power limiting due to overtemperature.
l The rectifier generates an alarm for shutdown due to overtemperature.
l The rectifier generates an alarm due to AC input overvoltage or undervoltage protection.
l The rectifier enters the sleep mode.
2.4.3 PDU01D-01
The power distribution unit 01D-01 (PDU01D-01) is installed in an EPU05A-07 or
EPU05A-09 subrack and supplies power to RRUs using an external ODM.

Functions
A PDU01D-01 performs the following functions:
l Provides one –48 V DC power output.
l Supplies power to a maximum of six RRUs using an external ODM.
2.4.4 PDU03D-02
The PDU03D-02 is installed in an EPU05A-07 or EPU05A-09 subrack and supplies power to
RRUs.

The PDU03D-02 provides three –48 V DC power outputs.

2.4.5 BCU03
In the ITC, the BCU03 is installed on the lowest part in the BTC, controls the four battery
groups separately, and protects against short circuit and overload.

2.4.6 Battery
Batteries are installed for power backup in the BTC inside the ITC.

NOTICE
When using batteries other than those provided by Huawei, consult Huawei technical
personnel for matching evaluation.
NOTE
Batteries from different manufacturers differ in exteriors and technical specifications. This section uses
12 V 100 Ah batteries as an example.
Configuration
Each battery group consists of four batteries. A maximum of four battery groups can be
configured in the BTC inside the ITC.
Technical Specifications
The following table lists the technical specifications of a battery.
2.5.1 CCU01D-05
A CCU01D-05 monitors the operating environment of the ITC and manages equipment. It is
used to monitor the temperature of fan units, heaters, and cabinet, and to manage power
supply and lower-level equipment.

2.5.2 CCUB1
The cabinet control unit type B (CCUB1) monitors the operating environment and manages
equipment. It is used to monitor the temperature of fan units, heaters, and ITC, and to manage
power supply and lower-level equipment.

The following figure shows the ports on a CCUB1.
(1) PWR Power input port providing DC power for the board
(2) EFAN1 Connects to the external circulation fan to receive the fan
alarm signals. This port is not used in the TubeStar
solution.
(13) ELU Connects to the electronic label unit (ELU) and reports
the cabinet type.
(14) GATE Boolean signal port for connecting to the door status
sensor
(22) IFAN0 and IFAN1 Connects to the internal circulation fan to receive the fan
alarm signals.
(23) IFAN2 and IFAN3 Connects to the external circulation fan to receive the fan
alarm signals.

2.5.3 CMUH
A central monitoring unit type H (CMUH) board monitors the temperature of fan units,
heaters, and cabinets, and manages power supply and lower-level equipment.

Indicators
Two indicators on the CMUH panel indicate the board status. The following table describes
their meanings.
RUN Green Blinking (on for 1s and The board is functional and communicating
off for 1s) properly with the upper-level device.

2.6.1 USLP

Exterior
An OFU02D-01 consists of the fans, CMUH, and temperature sensor. The following figures

2.7.2 FAN01D-02
The fan box accelerates the air circulation inside and outside, effectively reducing the
operating temperature of the cabinet.
