Cumulocity Assessment Questions

1. What is IoT? What is IIoT? Give 2 examples of IoT and/or IIoT devices you have
encountered in your daily life (other than mobile phones)

Ans:
Iot:- Iot stands for Internet of thing
It means it is connecting all the device through internet we can access any device from anywhere.
Eg:-Apple watch
Smart Lock
IIot: IIot stands for Industrial internet of things
We can say it is the extension of Iot in industries we are using some costly sensors to predict the
small changes also to get the accurate
Eg: in car manufacturing any changes occurred that sensors will send the alarm
In thermal power stations any power little changes occurred it have to send alarm

2. Name any 3 IoT Platforms other than Cumulocity

Ans:
Amazon web Services Iot
Microsoft Azure Iot
IBM Watson

3. What is a tenant? How is it different from a user?

Ans:
Tenant we can say the plug and pay
they are paying the money for what they are using service(or) infrastructure
Tenant can create sub-Tenant and many users
User is the part of tenant he will use the services provided by the tenant with out paying
any money.

4. What do you know about ADAMOS platform that is built on top of Cumulocity?
(OR)
What is the different between Device Management and Administration applications available in
Cumulocity?
Ans:
Device Management:-
Device management is an application it will provide some functionalities
meant for monitoring the devices remotely we can control the
trouble shoot of devices
Administration application:-
 Administration application it will provide the Administrative settings like.
 managing of their users and their roles
We can create business rules also.
 tenants details and their settings for their account. Etc

5. What is Cumulocity Edge? How is it different from Cumulocity Cloud?

Ans:
Cumulocity Edge:-
cumulocity Iot Edge is an onsite single-server
main difference is user interface.

6. List any 4 IoT protocols supported by Cumulocity, with at least 2 of them NOT from the
ones mentioned in the classroom sessions
Ans:
Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP)
Data Distribution Service (DDS)
Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP)
Secure Message Queue Telemetry Transport (SMQTT)

7. What are smart rules? Give 2 examples. Which component of Cumulocity platform
executes smart rules?
Ans:
Cumulocity includes a rule to analyze the data in realtime
we can create our own rules by using scripting language and are managed in the
if our mobile connected in cumulocity if our mobile internet off that time it will send the alarm
cockpit is the component is executing the smart rules

8. What are the 2 main patterns to connect devices to Cumulocity IoT platform?

Ans:
in cumulocity we can connect the devices in two ways
1)General device Registration:-
by using this we can connect only one device
2)Bulk device Registration:-
by using this registration we can connect more than one device we can
group that devices.

9. What is a bulk operation in Cumulocity? Give an example

Ans:
Bulk operation in cumulocity it means we can perform operation on bulk device in a specified time
Eg:-
like we can perform update version operation (or) re-start on group of mobiles we selected in a specified
time

10. Accelerators are pre-packaged plugins that are built into Cumulocity platform. Name any
1 accelerator and mention its use
Ans:
cumulocity iot tracking accelerator
By using this plugin we can track the location of connected devices
