I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
a. determine the origin of the Magic Squares;
b. define the Magic Square;
c. derive the formula of the Magic Square;
d. express the Magic Square of order three;
e. construct a Magic Square; and
f. perform the Melancholia Magic Square.

II. Subject Matter:

III. Procedure:

A. Daily Routine

“Good Morning Class...” “Good Morning Sir!”

“Let us pray first...” (One Student will lead the Prayer)

(Checking of Attendance) (Students will say present if their name is


called)
“So how’s your day? Is it good so far?”
“It was great Sir!”
“That’s good to know. So class, are you
exited for our new topic today?’’ “Yes Sir!”
B. Lesson Proper

(The teacher will show a set of pictures.) One student will respond.

Now what can you see at the illustration? What geometrical I can see biscuit, wall clock,
shape are they in common? dice, and color pink square.
Also they are all square
shape.

As a sort of review, square is a plane figure with four equal


straight sides and four right angles.

(The teacher will introduce the main lesson.)

But now we will not talk about polygons, shapes, and other
plane figures Magic Square
a square that is divided into smaller squares, each containing a
number, such that the figures in each vertical, horizontal, and
diagonal row add up to the same value.

(The teacher will elaborate the concept of a circle.)


One student will volunteer.
At the end of this lesson you are expected to determine the
equation of a circle with center at the origin and equation of a
circle with center not on the origin. After that, you will be
learning how to express standard equation of a circle to general
equation and vice versa transforming general equation of a
circle to standard equation.

But before that let’s do a sort of recap about the lesson last
meeting. Any volunteer.
