Miriam, previously I noticed teachers write about your
close friendship with Lara (who has since left An-nur) Now you have made a new friendship with Ariam (Ariam, thinks your name is Ariam too!) she is just a little bit younger than you so you can often be seen showing her new and interesting things and teaching her how to do things (tua keina teina). She certainly looks to you to lead the play. Its lovely to see that your love & appreciation of books is rubbing off on your peer group, as enjoyment in books is an area where teachers have been challenged when encour- aging the children. Today you & Ariam spent most of the morning in the tent outside, reading and playing pretending to sleep. I love your creativity and independence, you like to “read” the pictures in the books and then make up your own stories, you seem to enjoy inde- pendent reading more than with a teacher at the moment. Miriam, you are developing skills for growing relationships with others, you are growing your vocabulary for increasingly complex purposes. I will continue to support your social interactions with others by ensuring there are experience where you are the expert and teach others and also new experience where you are taught by others. I will ensure that An-Nur books are refreshed often enough to be interesting but still have familiar books available to you so you can revisit your favourites and continue to be creative in making up your own stories and ideas.
