What should be the punishment if someone ignores a red light? Why should this be the punishment?
(hint : passive voice)

Question : When the law is broken by a person, what should we do?

Traffic light is a device which is usually placed at road intersection, pedestrian crossing, and other locations
with a purpose to control flows of traffic. The device has usually three different color light installed: red,
amber, and green. Each lights usually turn on exclusively to each other (though different countries has its
own way). Green-light means traffic is allowed to flow, amber-light means the signal is about to change
color, while red-light prohibits any traffic to flow. Implementation of traffic lights can have both positive
and negative consequences. Nevertheless, traffic lights improve safety traffic flow. Pedestrian can
confidently crossing road, vehicle can drive straight or turn more safely. Ignoring the signal recklessly will
only endanger others who obey the traffic-light on the place. It may cause property damage and even
more put people’s lifes in danger. Regarding the latter, it is actually equal to attempt murdering innocent
people. Therefore, it is not surprising to think imprisonment or forfeits is not enough or whether they are
really appropiate. They should be taught about the values of life itself. Because these type of people
usually take a life for granted. They hardly think of losing someone life may cause a great lose. Whether
it will put the victim’s family in distress or may causing uproar because the victim is a really important
person. Indeed, perpetrator him/herself may receive the same losses. Now, the problem is how we punish
them. It does seems hard to teach someone about the values of life. Because a person may truly
understand about it if he/she had experienced such situation. Consequently, it is more applicable to make
them wary. By imposing them with forfeits or improsenment seems a realistic option (here is the answer
of foregoing doubt). But the new problem arise, it is usually only the authorities could do that. For
instance, in Indonesia the authorities are traffic polices. Since if we look at our daily life that involve traffic
light (especially in Indonesia), traffic police are not enough, even we sometimes find there is none. Then,
it may be good to give to everyone who meet some requirements (he/she no need to be a traffic police)
the authority. Hence, since more people involved in maintaining the traffic increased, they who
incidentally happened meet those perpetrator could give them wary. But for now, since this is not the
case, we should give them some scolding.
