A Detailed Lesson Plan in TLE

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Identify what the components of a circuit are.
2. Construct different types of circuit.
3. Show cooperation in group activity.
II. LEARNING CONTENT:
a) Topic: Components and Types of a circuit.
b) Reference: K to 12 TLE BASIC ELECTRICITY (Code TLE_ICTCS9DT-IIIa-g-1)
c) Materials: Visuals Aids, battery, wire, bulb, and switch.
III. LEARNING PROCEDURES:

Teachers Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preparatory Activity
 Prayer
 Greeting
 Checking of Attendance
 Collecting of Assignment
B. Review
Class what was our topic last
meeting? Sir our topic last meeting was all about basic
electrical terms.
Very good! Anyone from the class who
can recall the basic electrical terms?
Sir the electron, proton, matter, atom, current,
Correct! Resistance and voltage.

C. Motivation/ACTIVITY
Now class, you are going to group
yourselves into five. Each group will be
given a word puzzle to solve using the
clues given. I’ll give you 3 minutes to
finish it. After you finished your activity
each group will post their answers on
the board. Are we clear class?
Yes Sir!
Okay you may start now.
(the teacher will give an envelope (Students will start to work on their group
containing a word puzzle and the activity)
picture clues)
D. ANALYSIS
Now, based on your activity class how
did you come up with your answer?
Sir we come up the answer because of the
given clues.
Sir each member of the group must really
Very good! What else? cooperate or divide the task to beat the time
limit.

That’s correct. And what do you think Sir those words are related to electricity.
are those words?

Very good!
E. ABSTRACTION
Now let’s take a look of the answer and
the clue of group 1. What did you Sir those are electrical object or object that
notice about the picture or the clue? utilize electricity.

Very good! Because LOAD is commonly

represented by a bulb or any electrical
components that consumes electricity.

Can you give an example of a LOAD

aside from a bulb? Sir any appliances.

Very good!

Alright for the group 2 what did you Sir those are object that provide electricity.
Notice about the picture?

Very good! Because SUPPLY is

commonly represented by a cell or a Sir a Generator.
battery.

Can you give an example of a supply

aside from battery? Sir an object that turns on and off.

Very Good!

Ok for the group 3?

Very good! Because a SWITCH is an

electrical device that opens or closed a
circuit.

Class the answer of group 1, 2, and 3

are the COMPONENTS OF A CIRCUIT. Sir the components of a circuit are
interconnected.
Now let’s move on to group 4, what did
you noticed about the picture?

Very good! A type of circuit that has a

closed path for current to flow. It
means that current can flow in a Sir the circuit is not connected.
CLOSED CIRCUIT.

And the last group, what did you notice

about the picture?

Very good! A type of circuit that has an

open path for current to flow. It means
that current cannot flow in open circuit.

Now, if I turn off the light is it an Open Sir Closed circuit.

Circuit or Close Circuit?

Excellent!
Sir the components of a circuit are LOAD,
Alright! Any question or clarification? SUPPLY, AND SWITCH.
Again, what are the COMPONENTS OF A
CIRCUIT?

Very good! And what are the TYPES OF Sir OPEN CIRCUIT AND CLOSED CIRCUIT.
A CIRCUIT?

Excellent! You really listened well in our

discussion.
F. APPLICATION
Now, I will group you into 2. I’ll give you
ten minutes to assemble the 3 essential
components of electric circuit.
Are we clear?
(Provided with Materials)
Yes Sir!
(Students will start to work on their activity)

V. ASSIGNMENT:
 In a ¼ sheet of paper, explain what will happen to the electric circuit if the electricity
will return to the source without passing the load. 10 pts. (REFERENCE: BASIC
