General Information
TOP‐FLO® SV2, EV2 and IN Sample Valves are specially engineered to be the finest
in the industry and incorporate many features and benefits not found on other
sampling valves.
TOP‐FLO® Sample Valves are designed with minimal dead‐leg area within each style
valve, keeping internal hold up volume to a minimum for accurate samples every
time. Right Angle concentric (SV2), Right angle eccentric (EV2) and In‐Line (IN)
models are available with sanitary clamp inlet sizes 1/2” ‐ 6” with a variety of
different size and type outlet connection.

Technical Information
Materials of Construction
Wetted Parts ‐
Body: 316L stainless steel (alternative materials available)
Stem: FDA/USP Class VI Virgin PTFE
O‐Ring: FDA/USP Class VI FKM (alternative polymers available)
Non‐Wetted Parts –
Knob: Ultem® Black autoclave‐able thermoplastic
Indicator: Delrin® Red visual position indicator
E‐Clip: 304 Stainless steel
Stem: 316L stainless steel
Pins: 316L stainless steel
Design notes:
SV2 & EV2 style valves – PTFE stem is (1) solid piece within the product
contact area of the valve
IN style valves – Stem is 316L stainless steel with PTFE sealing tip within the
product contact area of the valve
Delrin® is a registered trademark of DuPont
Ultem® is a registered trademark of General Electric Company

Installation
All valve styles (SV2, EV2, IN) ‐
1. Orient valve outlet towards the floor
2. Apply clamp to attach valve inlet to mating connection using the clamp
manufacturer’s recommended tightening torque
Installation notes:
Sample valves of all types can be installed in any orientation; however
consideration should be taken into account for valve drain‐ability.
Operation
!! CAUTION !!
Top‐Flo® Sample Valves are to be operated by hand only. Use of a wrench or
other mechanical means will yield excessive torque levels that will damage the
valve.
If the process fluid is hazardous or corrosive, extra safety precautions should be
taken. The user should employ appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
and any other alternative safety devices during valve operation. The user should
be prepared to control the flow of material through the outlet port.
Top‐Flo® Sample Valves are not intended for continuous exposure to steam.
Attempting to meter continuous steam through the valve will cause rapid erosion
of the PTFE stem or tip and the O‐ring stem seal. This condition will lead to
premature seal failure.
5
Operation (cont.)
Valve Opening –
1. Turn black valve knob by hand counter‐clockwise rotation until
desired valve position and outlet flow is achieved
2. Red visual indicator should now be visible to indicate an open
position
Valve Closure –
1. Turn black valve knob by hand clockwise rotation until it can no
longer be rotated.
2. Ensure flow from the outlet port has stopped
3. Red visual indicator should not be visible
Operation Note:
Any visible leakage from the valve outlet port after proper closure or
any leakage from around black valve knob is an indication that the valve
requires maintenance.
6
Maintenance
!! Caution !!
Prior to removal of valve from service for maintenance, internal line pressure
must be relieved to prevent accidental exposure to pressure or hazardous fluids.
Valve Disassembly Procedure ‐
1.Remove E‐clip from stem groove behind the black knob
2.Turn black knob counter‐clockwise to remove knob from valve body
3.Remove stop pin from valve body
4.Remove stainless steel stem with PTFE sealing component from valve
body
Stem Disassembly Procedure –
SV2 & EV2 Valve Style
1. Stem assembly includes SS component with PTFE stem including O‐
ring
2. Slide SS stem component out of the slot in the PTFE stem
3. If PTFE stem and O‐ring are damaged or worn, discard and replace
with new PTFE stem and O‐ring. Do not discard the SS component of
the assembly
7
IN Valve Style
1. Stem assembly includes SS component with PTFE tip including O‐ring
2. If PTFE tip and O‐ring are damaged or worn, discard entire
component (SS component, PTFE tip, O‐ring). Replace with complete
new stem assembly.
Inspection ‐
1. Visually inspect internal and external parts, look for sign of excessive
wear, cracking or corrosion. Replace any affected parts.
2. Look for any residual signs of leakage, especially around the valve
handle/knob area. If indication of leakage is noted, replace stem O‐
ring.
Valve Re‐assembly Procedure
SV2 & EV2 Valve Style
1. Install O‐ring into groove located in the PTFE stem
2. Install PTFE stem with O‐ring onto SS component of stem assembly
3. Insert complete stem assembly with PTFE component first into the
valve body
4. Ensure slot in SS component of stem assembly is aligned with slot in
valve body
5. Install SS stop pin through valve body and SS component of stem
assembly
6. Install black knob to the valve body rotating clockwise until it stops
7. Install E‐clip onto SS component of stem assembly.
8
Valve Re‐assembly (cont.)
IN Valve Style
1. Install O‐ring into groove located in the SS stem with PTFE tip
2. Insert complete stem assembly with PTFE tip first into the valve body
3. Ensure slot in SS stem assembly is aligned with slot in valve body
4. Install SS stop pin through valve body and SS stem assembly
5. Install black knob to the valve body rotating clockwise until it stops
6. Install E‐clip onto SS stem assembly
