UK STRIKE BRIGADE INTRODUCTION

The strike brigade is being formed as part of the army2020 restructure,
with an emphasis and consideration on the following points:

• Expeditionary warfare and our ability to meet threats at distance

• The resurgence of peer threats in the form of Russia and China
• Complex terrain navigation as future war will likely be fought in large urban
and densely populated areas
• Enhancing logistical capabilities ensuring that deployed units can operate
• independently for a period of 72 hours and still remain fully functional
