“Personal Information”
Cardinal number: We use the cardinal numbers to count, say our age, telephone numbers, etc.
Zero and the letter “O” are used for telephone numbers.

100: one hundred 1000: thousand 50: fifty

Age: In English, to speak about age you use the verb “to be”

I am __ years old. He/she is ___ years old.

To say dates in English you need to learn the months of the year and the ordinal numbers.

 If the verb ends in a consonant + “y”, change the -y to -i and add -es.
Ex. Carry – Carries
 If the verb ends in -s, -z, -h, -x or -o, add -es.
Ex. Go – Goes
 In all other cases, add -s to the simple form of the verb.
Ex. Wear – Wears, Work – Works, Pay – Pays.

Preposition used in addresses: At/On

 We use at when we give the number and street where a building is located
Ex. I Iive at 965 Chacabuco Street.
 We use on when we give only the street (without the number) were a building is located.
Ex. I live on Chacabuco Street.

Present continuous affirmative form:


 We use the present continuous to express the idea that something is happening at the
moment of speaking.
Ex. Can I speak with Claudia? R: Yes, speaking.
I’m calling about the apartment.

Spelling of -ing forms

 Verbs that end in -e (write, make, drive, etc) > writing, making, driving
 Verbs that end in -ie (lie, die, trie) > lying, dying, trying
 Verbs that end in one vowel + one consonant (run, sit, get) > running, sitting, getting
