CUEGIS Concepts
Change - the modification or transformation in the way business is
conducted as a response to internal factors or external influences.
Culture - the norms, beliefs and values of an organization or a
collective group of individuals, which shape its practices and
characteristics. (Internal and External)
Ethics - the moral principles and values that form the basis of how
business activity is conducted.
Globalization - the process by which people, ideas, goods and services
become increasingly spread around the world, creating greater
integration and understanding of countries, organizations and
cultures.
Innovation - the improvements of a product or process to better
meet the needs and wants of customers, in a profitable way and
increase the likelihood of a business succeeding.
Strategy - planned actions designed to achieve the long-term goals
or overall aims of an organization.
CUEGIS Essay Questions
Paper 2, Section C of the BM assessment is a conceptual
extended response question. You are asked to use two of
the six concepts of CUEGIS to discuss the situation and
issues faced by real-life organization(s) making use of BM
tools, techniques and theories. (Worth 20 marks, 25% of
Paper 2 score) Examples of CUEGIS Questions:
▪evaluate different strategies businesses can adopt to
respond to issues of globalization.
▪discuss the importance of innovation and of ethics in
marketing.
▪discuss how marketing strategies may differ in two
cultures that you are familiar with.
▪examine what changes globalization brings about in the
management of human resources.
