Health Goes Hi-Tech

Few days back I went to one of the best private hospital in Ahmedabad with my friend for her
check-up. It was like I was visiting hospital after very long time. I was really surprised to
look after the ambience and facilities of the hospital. They are very quick. There was a patient
who was talking to the Doctor regarding x-rays. He told Doctor that he don’t have time now
to do x-ray. Doctor replied him that it will hardly take 5 minutes. It’s really great. Then at that
time I decided to know what the current development is taking place in health sector. I went
to various sources like articles, internet.

The healthcare sector in India has seen a tremendous growth in the past years in terms of
technological advancement and
improved quality of service. It
is not limited to research and
development in treating
diseases and drugs. Today,
medical equipments with in-
built technologies like Internet
of Things, Artificial
Intelligence. With the technological advancement the experience of patient has changed
completely from registration to the discharge formalities.

Rise of Artificial Intelligence: The companies like IBM and Microsoft are collaborating
with health facilities to aid physicians and patients in detecting and curing and designing a
predictive model to eliminate avoidable diseases. On the other hand companies like GE
healthcare is increasingly using IoT to enable physicians in urban hospitals to remotely
monitor and manage their patients in remote areas. I will name it as Techno-Physician. Now-
a-days, doctors are not trained on finding and curing diseases but on technology also so that
this will advance their skills and they can provide better treatment.

Block Chain: It’s a very advance technology which provide data vast amount of data and
improved patient experience in just no time. It will make process transparent, eliminating
intermediaries, providing a guard against counterfeit drugs and reducing unnecessary
healthcare cost.
Nanotechnology: Nanobots which are capable of unclogging arteries and preventing cases of
heart attacks.

Robotics: Robots are performing surgeries without presence of actual physician. Robots also
known to help in medical equipment as well as monitoring procedure.

After reading about all these, one thing that clicked my mind, how the hospital recruits,
because the recruited candidate must have sound knowledge of both domain and technology
also. Going through the sources, I found that they follow the same procedure and the medium
like campus recruitment, e-recruitment, employee recommendation etc. for the recruitment.
The role of HR in health care industry become versatile and complicated too. Health is
something that needs to be handle with care and if any bad recruit happens it will create a
question mark for both manager and hospital.
