Content Standard:

I.Preparation

a. Motivation
Were there times that you felt so high with
yourself, that you thought you are already the
best of everything? How did you feel? Yes, it was awesome.

b. Statement of the Aim


Do you know that rainbows are not the way we
used to think of it? Do you want to know how No/Yes.
rainbow started?

II.Presentation
This morning, we will read a parable by Juan M.
Flavier. A parable is a succinct, didactic story,
in prose or verse which illustrates one or more
instructive lessons or principles. Students do as told.

A. Activity
Now, let us have our activity. Each of the group
will be given a copy of the story with questions
that you have to answer: Do it for 5 minutes.

Process questions:
1. If you were one of the colors, what
would you be? Why?
2. What is the change that happened in
each of the colors? How?
3. How is this change relevant to the
existence of each of the colors?
4. Why do you think rain emphasized the
need for cooperation?
5. What do you feel when you see a
rainbow?
6. Why does a rainbow represent hope?
7. How will you encourage others to
cooperate in societal activities?

B. Analysis
At this point, let us hear the answers from each
group. (Students do as told)

C. Abstraction:
Based on the story, how are you going to
describe the relationship of each of the colors
in the parable? They feel mighty and proud upon themselves.

Do you think what they did was right? No, it wasn’t.

If you were one of the colors, would you do the


same? Probably, yes. Because I am just a human
being subject to feel pride and arrogance.

What is the message/purpose of the parable? The message of the parable that we cannot
stand just as one. We need each other for us
to grow.
Values Integration:
What other values can we extract from the
story? The value that we can get is cooperation.

Draw a large rainbow. Through discussion with
your group members, write the characteristics
that you think will help you broaden your
horizon and improve yourself as a person.
