1. What is being emphasized in the article?


 Too much media content is used by Filipinos across separate screens. The use
of radio hearing, for instance, is less than the use of laptops and smartphones to
view videos that represent their interests.

2. According to the article, What is/are the most common type(s) of media that Filipinos
consume?
 Radio hearing, media and internet are the prevalent kinds of media consumed by
Filipino people.

3. Which of the media mentioned in the article do you use frequently?


 You commonly use Internet and Browsing in the media listed in the article.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using mass media? State three for each.
 Advantages
 In a very brief moment, people get the recent news. Through the media, people
get news every day, and this keeps them up-to-
date on the events around the world.
 It educates individuals. People learn about health issues, conservation of the
environment, and much more through television and radio programs.
 People get their hidden talents to be brought out. Present their skills like
comedy, acting and singing through the press.
 Disadvantages
 You can generate an anonymous account. Such accounts may be used for bad purposes
. It can result in ruin of reputation.
 The Internet offers importer, fraud and hacking opportunities as a type of
media.
 Increasing TV and radio advertising makes them less appealing.

How do you think the media impact the way you spend your everyday life?

 Media plays a key role and affects almost every aspect of our life. It is the best
way to know about the world's events. The various media types are newspaper,
magazine, radio, TV and Internet. It has a major impact on our life because the
press is able to affect our thinking.

1.Based on the data in figure 1.2, which form of mass media do Filipinos use more often? Why
do you think Filipinos prefer to use this medium?

 Television is a medium for improving the world, triggering imagination, raising


curiosity, encouraging schooling and bringing people together in common interests.

2. Which gender is more exposed to mass media? What do you thinks is the reason behind it?

 Women, because sometimes their phones will be checked. They are always up t

date and in front of others.

3. What is the relationship of media and information literacy and the exposure of Filipinos to
mass media?

 It is highly probable that they are linked because the media grows and it spreads
reliable and intact data to social networking websites that individuals use everyday.
Lesson 2: The Evolution of Media

Briefly describe each stage in the history of media on the space provided.

1. Tribal Age
 Tribal age was said to be adjusted to senses, but largely to listening. Because
they said that they believed before that hearing.

2. Age of Literacy
 Traditionally literacy was considered to be read and written. It was stated that indi
viduals in their societies or families were adapted and nurtured.

3. Print Age
 Print Age was dated to Johannes Gutenberg's invention of the mobile mechanical
printing press.

4. Electronic Age
 Where is the birth of electronics. The electronic media have notified individuals
about occurrences all over the world, without leaving their homes comfortably.

5. Information Age
 It introduced a great deal of innovation and inventions. Many services have been
created for communication. People can readily learn new languages and books
are readily translated around the globe to inform and learn new languages.

What do you think would be the next major mass medium that will be developed in the next ten years?

 All post and previous media have been merged to create a


fresh way of transmitting obstacles or obstructions to the
next technology. New capacities for fresh and generalized
data that can be used in many parts of the globe could
readily be expanded.

Based on what you have learned in the lesson, what do you think are the key values of media
revolutionaries in the Philippines that paved media evolution in the country? Explain your

 They found various media that fit the primary source of data and entertainment
we use. We also used our senses to enlighten us. We have also adjusted to be a
fast learner to take advantage of what we can and can do.
