DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING

I. OBJECTIVES
 Describe the 4P’s of Marketing.
 Create an advertisement to sell a particular product of the community.
 Appreciate the functions of 4P’s of marketing.

1. Prayer
 Let us all stand and feel the presence  (Everyone will pray).

2. Greetings
 Good morning everyone.  Good morning Sir Rhelvin. We are happy
to see you today!
 I’m happy to see you too. How are you
my dear students?  We’re fine thank you.

3. Checking of Attendance
 Miss Secretary, may I know your
attendance for today.  I am happy to inform you Sir that we are
all here today!
 Let us give ourselves five (5) claps for
the perfect attendance.

4. Setting of Classroom Standard


 We imposed 3 classroom rules since
June. Now, let us remind ourselves of
these rules:

5. Review
 Yesterday we discussed market place
and costumers’ needs. Let me see if you
learned something. How will you
describe a market place?  A market place is a location where people
regularly gather for the purchase and sale
of provisions, livestock and other goods.
 You’re right!

understanding the market place and
customer needs are needs, wants and
demands, marketing offering such as
products, services and experiences, value
and satisfactions, exchanges and
relationships and markets.

 Very good. You are right. It is very


important as marketers to understand
the market place and the needs of the
customers because once the consumer
and the market place is fully
understood, marketing manager can
design a customer-driven marketing
strategy.

B. Lesson Proper

1. Motivation (Video Clip Presentation)


 I prepared a video clip for you to watch.
Discover if the product shown in the
video is in demand in the community or
not. List down the reasons why.
 (Remind the pupils of the rules to
follow).
 (Video clip presentation).
 Why do you say that the product is in
demand? What are your thoughts?
Share it to everyone.  Because of the product itself, the artist who
advertise the product and its availability to
the market.

 You have brilliant ideas.


(The teacher started to introduce the 4P’s based
on the answer of the student)

2. Presentation
 Actually, all the things or factors which
you enumerated are what we call
marketing mix. This will be our main
topic for today.
 For us to be guided, let us first read our
objectives for the day.
 (The meaning and function of 4P’s will
be explained through a Power Point
Presentation).
3. Activity Proper (Business Speech)
 You will be grouped into three (3).
Choose your leader, secretary and
reporter.
 I will provide each group with a
product of our community. Your task is
to introduce the product and sell it.
Create your own strategic plan
employing the 4P’s to make it in
demand.
 Your groups output will be rated based
on the rubrics which I made.

 For sure those products will become in
demand because they were properly
introduced to the costumers by
employing the 4P’s in the marketing
strategy. Each tool has its own function
in doing business.

C. Generalization
 What does 4P’s in marketing stand for?  Product, Price, Place, and Promotion

 Describe each.  Product – something that is made or grown


to be sold or used.
 Price – the amount of money that you pay
for something.
 Place – specific area or location where the
products are being sold.
 Promotion – the communication activities
used by the company to reach their target
market.

D. Application/Analysis
 For me to know how much you have
learned today, let us have a game called
“Put Me in the Right Track”.
 I will divide you in the same groups.
 Each group will be given four words
written on the flash cards. Discuss
among your group members what each
word imply. To what marketing tool can
you correlate it; product, price, place or
promotion. Post it to its designated
column.
 Give your justification of putting the
words to each designated column.
 The group who can have the most
number of correct answer will be
declared winner.
 Are you ready?  Yes we are!
E. Valuing
 Do you think the business can function
effectively and efficiently without the
help of 4Ps?  No Sir!

 Why?  Because the business cannot create a


competitive advantage in the market if
marketing mix will not properly employed.

 Excellent Answer.

IV. EVALUATION
Read and understand each statement carefully. Identify what tool of marketing is being
described. Write your answers on a ¼ sheet of paper.
1. It is the communication aspect of the entire marketing functions.
2. It aims to satisfy the needs and wants of the target market.
3. It involves advertising, special offers and public relations.
4. It aims to make the product affordable to the target market and reflect the value of benefits
provided.
5. It has to do with how the product will be provided to the customer.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Choose one product and make your own marketing strategy. Submit it on a long bond paper.
