Optical Protection Unit
The OP board is used to implement the optical multiplex
section line 1+1 protection or optical path 1+1 protection.
The functions of OP board are as follows.
Check the input optical power. The protection switch will be
triggered when the input power is lower than -25 dBm (Low Input
Power Alarm).
Support the external switching commands from the EMS.
Support reversion switching and non-reversion switching.
The switching time is less than 50 ms.

Optical Protection Unit
In the concurrent transmitting direction (IN → OUT1, IN →
OUT2)
The optical signal received at the IN port is divided into two optical
signals of the same wavelength (OUT1, OUT2) through the coupler.
These two output signals protect each other.
In the preferential receiving direction (IN1 → OUT, IN2 → OUT)
The optical signals received at the IN1 and IN2 ports pass through
the corresponding coupler. And then some light of the optical
signals is sent into the PIN Check module, which will check the
optical power for the input signals.
The other light is sent to the 1×2 switch module, which will select
the optical signal according to the optical power measured in the
PIN Check module and output it through the OUT port.
