To be a nationally-recognized electrical engineering department that engages in the highest quality
education, research, extension and innovation; and become a leading force in molding globally competent
electrical engineers, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs.
4. Mission of the Department:
 To educate and train our students to become industry-ready by incorporating real-world electrical
engineering practices in instruction and research.
 To develop the innovation and technopreneurial skills of students by providing opportunities for
product conceptualization to commercialization.
 To provide technology solutions to industry and society through research and development.

5. Vision of the Program
The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) Program is in vision of providing SMARTEES
electrical engineers who have a strong background in Science, Mathematics, Allied courses, Related
Technologies, and Electrical Engineering Specialization catering local, national, and international need.
6. Mission of the Program
Produce electrical engineers that are industry-competent and thought leaders who significantly
contribute to the national development through electrical engineering solutions and innovations in the
industry, business and academe.

Program Educational Objectives:


Three to Five years from Graduation:
7. PEO1: Graduates are industry-competent electrical practitioners.

8. PEO2: The graduates are significant contributors to the national development through electrical
engineering solutions and innovations.

9. PEO3: The graduates are thought leaders and catalyst for improvement in the industry, business,
and academe.

Program Outcomes:
The graduates of the BSEE Program will be able to:
10. a. Apply knowledge of mathematics, sciences, and engineering fundamentals to solve complex
engineering problems relevant to the field of electrical engineering practice.
11. b. Identify, research literature, analyze complex electrical engineering problems and formulate
solutions using principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.

12. c. Design, implement, and evaluate systems, components, or processes to meet desired needs and
requirements within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health
and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, in accordance with standards

13. d. Conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge in designing and
conducting experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data in electrical engineering fields specifically
on power systems, power electronics, renewable energy, and power economics.

14. e. Create, select, and apply current techniques, skills, modern engineering and IT tools necessary for
electrical engineering practice within the specified constraints.

15. f. Discuss current issues based on appropriate knowledge involving societal, health, safety,
professional, ethical, legal, and cultural concerning the practice of electrical engineering.

16. g. Evaluate the effects of electrical engineering solutions in a comprehensive societal, economics and
environmental context for sustainable development goals.

17. h. Apply ethical principles and recognize professional, social, and ethical responsibility for the practice
of electrical engineering profession.

18. i. Develop proficiency in business and technical communication using local and emerging foreign
languages, and internationally accepted Electrical Engineering standards.

19. j. Work effectively as an individual and as a member or a leader in a trans–disciplinary and multi–
cultural team, recognizing the different roles within a team to accomplish a common goal.

20. k. Recognize the need to be updated of the developments in the specific field of the electrical
engineering practice and be prepared to engage in independent and life – long learning.

21. l. Use engineering and management principles as a member or a leader in a team, to manage projects
and in multidisciplinary environment.

22. m. Participate in the generation of new knowledge and advancement of existing knowledge, in
research and development projects, and in technopreneurial activities in the areas of power systems,
power electronics, renewable energy, and power economics aligned to regional and national
development agenda or goals.
