THUS SAITH THE LORD AGAIN …
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good
things; so that thy youth is renewed

GENESIS 1:29 (ESV)
And God said, “Behold, I have given
you every plant yielding seed that is
on the face of all the earth, and every
tree with seed in its fruit. You shall
have them for food.” 6
Psalm 104:13-15 (KJV)
• 13 He waters the hills from his chambers: the earth
is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth
food out of the earth;

oil to make his face to shine, and bread which
strengthens man's heart. 7
Ezekiel 47:12
(Holman Christian Standard Bible)
All kinds of trees providing food will grow
along both banks of the river. Their leaves
will not wither, and their fruit will not fail.
Each month they will bear fresh fruit because
the water comes from the sanctuary. Their
fruit will be used for food and their leaves for
medicine. 8
Revelation 22:2
In the midst of the street of it, and on
either side of the river, was there the
tree of life, which bare twelve manner
of fruits, and yielded her fruit every
month: and the leaves of the tree
were for the healing of the nations. 9

Yet he did not leave himself without
witness, for he did good by giving

seasons, satisfying your hearts with
food and gladness. 10
QUOTABLE QUOTE
"Our Creator gave us food both
as NOURISHMENT and as
MEDICINE. It is only natural,
therefore, to use our food with
both of these goals in view.”

MY POEM …
• At fifty, I shall not be filthy, but I shall be as fit
as a fiddle.
• At sixty, I shall not be silly or sickly, but I shall
be strong and slim.
• At seventy, I shall not be empty, but still full of
faith and power for exploits.
• At eighty, I shall not be overweight, but a
spiritual heavyweight. 12
MY POEM …
• At ninety, I shall not be a nonentity, but a no-
nonsense nonagarian.
• At one hundred, I shall not be hunted by
sickness, but enjoy robust health.

13
MY POEM …
• At one hundred and ten, I shall not tend
towards the grave, but live to declare God’s
glory.
• At one hundred and twenty, I shall not be
twisted by disease, but will choose to “sleep” in
peace, with all my faculties still in excellent
shape.
• “So help me God”. 14

The HLA Creed
 I will live to be thankful to God for the gift of
life and health.
 I recognize that I am created for a purpose,
and I promise, under God, to live to fulfil that
purpose.
 I commit to love God, love myself, and love
my neighbours. I will do nothing to hurt God,
72
 hurt myself, or hurt my neighbours. I totally
commit to healthy living. I commit to a life
of prevention rather than cure.
 I believe that God has played His part in
healing me and keeping me healthy.
Because maintaining my health is a shared
responsibility between God and myself, I
promise to do my own part as well. 73
The HLA CREED cont’d
 I therefore commit to the following:
 To exercise moderately and regularly,
 To manage my stress properly,
 To nourish my body appropriately,
 To abstain from whatever can compromise my
health,
 To drink enough water daily,
 To enjoy fresh air and expose myself to
reasonable sunshine daily, 74
The HLA CREED cont’d
To enjoy my God-given relationships daily,
To avoid or minimize conflicts and tension
around my life,
To laugh and be happy regularly, and
To continue to trust God daily for good health
and long life.
So help me God.
75
FINAL ADVICE …
“When you are listening to a person speaking,
whether in a lecture or in the home or elsewhere, and
some constructive advise is being given, don’t let your
mind wander to all the people you know who could
profit from that advice. Apply it to yourself, first. We
are so prone to want to correct and improve others,
overlooking the fact that probably we need the
correction and the improvement more than anyone
we know.”
