Lesson Plan in SHS

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Define verbal communication from nonverbal communication.
b. Appreciate the value of verbal and nonverbal cues in communication.
c. Perform a specific scene from a particular play or movie using verbal and nonverbal
communication.

II. Subject Matter:

III. Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities:
1. Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance

B. Motivation:
Teacher will show video on Nonverbal Communication.

C. Activity:
Students will group into 2 groups, every representative in every group will pick pieces of
paper from the teacher and all of them contain titles of the movie and tittles of a song.
He/she will act whatever tittle he/she picked. The rest of the group will guess the act. There
are 10 acts every group .Every group will given 3 minutes to guess the act, if they fail
another act will do. I point will be added in every correct answer. The higher the score, the
winner they will be.

D. Analysis:
1. What did you use in guessing the title of the movies?
2. How about in guessing those titles, what did the representative used in showing their
actions?
3. In guessing the tittle of the movie you use words right? So what kind of communication is
that?
4. The representative used actions to tell the titles of the movie. In that scenario the
representative engaged in what communication?

E. Abstraction:
1. Allow the students to give the meaning of Verbal and Nonverbal Communication.
2. Power Point Presentation about Verbal and Nonverbal Communication

Verbal communication / oral communication -is the use of auditory language to exchange
information with other people. It includes sounds, words, or speaking, includes both face-
to-face conversation between people and written communication. The tone, volume, and
pitch of one's voice can all contribute to effective verbal communication.

Ex.

2. Presentations
3. Announcements
4. Casual conversations between friends
5. Verbal feedback from the receiver

Non-verbal communication /-is communication between people through non-verbal or


visual cues. This includes gestures, facial expressions, body movement, timing, touch,
and other ways people can communicate without using language.

F. Application:
The same group earlier, I want you to perform a specific scene in your favourite movie
wherein verbal and nonverbal communication will be seen in your presentation.

Students will answer a short quiz in ¼ sheet of paper.
