The verb “can” is considered a modal auxiliary one, because it helps other verbs to
express ideas. It is called modal because modifies the meaning of a sentence or phrase when
accompanied for action verbs.
Can
it is used to talk about skills and physical abilities
it is used to talk about possibilities
it is used to ask permissions
it used to offer and request

Let´s see how can works:
It doesn´t have a gender usage, it means you can use it with all the personal pronouns and nouns
without changing its main form.
e.g.
1. she can swim very well
2. I can play basketball
3. We can learn English
1. she cannot swim very well = she can´t swim very well (contracted form)
To make questions, place the word “can” before the noun or pronoun
e.g.
