Durable products
For concrete that requires a long service-life, only steel fiber will do. Compared to
synthetic fibers, steel fiber increases the toughness of the concrete, limits crack Bekaert develops, produces and

Dramix® concrete reinforcement

Dramix® concrete reinforcement is positive proof that advanced technology does make a difference:
• These steel fibers allow any concrete design, unlimited by shape, dimensions or complexity
• They enable you to work more cost-efficient
• They offer unrivaled toughness and crack-control
• They are the only reliable reinforcement solution for load carrying concrete

Proven performance (ASTM C1609 Testing - Flexural Performance of FRC)

Testing performed in accordance with ASTM C1609-12 Standard Test Method for Flexural Performances of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete
(Using Beam With Three-Point Loading) leads to two important conclusions when comparing the performance of Dramix® 3D steel fibers
and synthetic fibers:

• The fibers hardly influence first crack stress (F1). Regardless the fiber dosage, the levels remains similar.
• The difference in fiber performance is evident from the post-crack results (see Re3). This leads to very different end-results,
with steel fibers performing between 50 to 200% better than synthetic fibers.
