The principal of KETO or Ketogenic diet is take less carbohydrates in daily food, especially the easily digest
carbs like sugar, pastries, and white bread. Carbohydrates consist of three main groups, they are simple
carbs (monosaccharides), disaccharides (lactose and sucrose) and complex carbs (starch, glycogen, and
fiber). In this diet method, people must prevent the disaccharides and complex carbs because those kind
of carbs need more time to digested so it could impact with people weight. To get more calories, protein
and fat to be used as a part of energy sources.

People must control their carbs intake, maximum of total intake just about 50 gram a day. In 3 until 4
days, your body will runs out of fuel quickly and the next day protein and fat will take a part to break into
the energy output, so your weight will lose quickly in a week. That’s why this diet method is one of fastest
way that focused on weight loss but with no health benefit impact.

Although the fact this method purpose is only for weight loss, but it could help to manage certain medical
condition such as epilepsy, heart disease, brain disease, even acne. However, research still need to this
topic and people who want to apply KETO diet should consultation and get the permission from doctor at
fist.

As told before, KETO diet principal is to less intake of carbs which is mean the glucose amount will
decrease in body system. It can affect with insulin hormone performance. Insulin is a hormone that
managing glucose to be used as fuel or saved as fat. If you apply this diet method, you will not store
glucose because all your carbs intake will burn totally become energy as result. This lower of insulin
hormone level will help you to protect against some kind of cancer, even though it also need more
research through it.

Beside of cancer, heart disease can be affected of lower insulin hormone level. It can happened because
insulin can control of body system with make of cholesterol amount decreasingly. It means, the probability
of high blood pressure, hardened arteries, heart failure, and other heart conditions will lower than
generally.

But for people who has diabetes type 1 should aware of this diet. Because when your body burns fat into
energy, ketones will appear as a result. Big amount of ketones in blood has bad affect in people who has
diabetes type 1, so consultation with doctor most import thing.

SIDE EFFECT THAT MIGHT HAPPENED WHEN YOU APPLY KETO DIET

As a fastest way to weight loss method, side effect of apply low-intake carbs need to be concern. Take
less carbs for long time can lead to kidney stone or high levels of acid (acidosis), mild low blood sugar or
indigestion. Other effects include “KETO Flu” like headache, weakness, irritability, bad breath, and fatigue.
That’s why, this method is not recommended as a long diet method. And also, guidance of doctor needed
to avoid bad side effect of apply KETO diet as daily food.
