Usage

• Active time for all VoIP connections


- LTE_5576a E-UTRAN E-RAB Active Time QCI1 [min]
• Aggregated in-session activity time in minutes for all E-RABs with QCI1 characteristics.
• The E-RAB is said to be "in-session" if any user data has been transferred in UL or DL direction within the last
100msec
• This KPI may be compared to the total session time (LTE_5575a E-UTRAN Total E-RAB Active Time)
- LTE_1067b VoIP traffic load
• This KPI measures the traffic load of voice calls over LTE network. The traffic is expressed in Erlang.
• =ERAB_IN_SESSION_TIME_QCI1 / (period_duration * 60)
- LTE_1153a Average voice call duration
• This KPI measures the average duration of a voice call.
• = ERAB_IN_SESSION_TIME_QCI1 / (numer of QCI sessions)

- LTE_5294c E-UTRAN average PDCP Active Layer Cell Throughput UL for QCI1 DRBs
• shows the average PDCP layer throughput per cell in uplink direction for QCI1 Data Radio Bearer
• The throughput is calculated as ratio of the PDCP SDU data volume and sum of time units where
there is received data
- LTE_5293c E-UTRAN average PDCP Layer Active Cell Throughput DL for QCI1 DRBs

- LTE_5155a E-UTRAN HO Preparation Success Ratio for IMS emergency Sessions
• Shows success ratio for the handover preparation phase for IMS emergency sessions, when the
source eNB attempts to prepare resources and finally starts to attempt the handover to a neighboring
cell within the own or target eNB.
• = 100*sum(HO_EMG_ATT) / sum(HO_EMG_PREP)

- LTE_1127a Percentage of PDCP SDU DL QCI 1
• The KPI provides the percentage of transmitted PDCP SDUs in downlink for QCI 1
- LTE_1041a Percentage of discarded PDCP SDUs DL QCI1
• Percentage of discarded PDCP SDUs in DL for QC1 compared with SDUs to transmit (actual
transmitted plus discarded)
- New KPI UL PDCP SDU transmission success ratio per QCI
• Having the knowledge about the lost PDCP SDU’s (M8001C255 PDCP_SDU_LOSS_UL_QCI_1),
the transmission success ratio can be calculated

- Report is composed of following 9 parties (sections):
• RRC Connection Setup Success Rate
• RRC Connection Releases
• E-RAB Setup Success Rate
• E-RAB Drop Rates
• RNL Fail UE lost
• E-UTRAN IP Latency (QCI)
• VoIP Capacity
• Handover Success Rates
• Paging
• Packet Loss Ratio
• It contains so many counters/KPIs that it might be difficult
to read (division to section slightly help)
• There are not only VoIP KPIs but also general LTE counters/KPIs that might be useful when
evaluating performance of VoIP
