QUESTION ONE
a. Discuss the practical needs of compensation of feedback in control systems.

b. With the aid of a block diagrams, explain the THREE types of compensating control and
deduce their respective transfer functions.

c. State the FOUR steps usually taken when designing a controller for a closed loop
system.

d. Sketch the electrical circuit diagram for a phase-lag compensator and also sketch its
output response on a Bode diagram.

a. Obtain the transfer function of a phase-lead network and then deduce the expression
of the maximum phase angle.

b. Using the Bode plot method, design a cascade compensator for the whose feed forward
