TEACHING LISTENING AND SPEAKING

Knowing the vitality of teachers in terms or the learners’ learning how to


learn is perhaps one of the hardest job one may put into realization. As a language
teacher, it is often hard to make students interested in listening activities for they
usually assume that it is not necessary. With this, I personally and honestly have
tried all the strategies I have learned while still in college just so my students will
be able to learn to listen. Fortunately with this module, I was able to gain new
strategies/activities and knowledge in teaching listening and speaking. It is surely a
great help.
In deeper manner, this module has probably reminded me of the importance
of listening. Truth repeatedly be told that only when we listen, then we get to learn.
That is in all aspect of life. When we listen, we get to put it in our head down to
our heart then down to our hands then definitely putting it into actions. It is also
when we listen that we get to understand our students better. That is why I guess
the words learn and heart have the letters e-a-r in it because both will only work
when we listen.
