Procedure
1. Lift the front of the truck until the front wheels are off the ground and the strut rods in the
suspension cylinders are fully extended.

2. Move the wheels to a straight ahead position.

3. Measure distance (F) between the front tires at the front. Mark the measurement locations of
distance (F) on the front of each tire.

4. Rotate the tires by 180 degrees.

5. Measure distance (B) between the marks on the back of each tire that were made in Step 3.

6. Use Table 1 to determine the correct toe-out when the front wheels are off the ground.

B = F - 48.2 mm (1.90 inch)

7. If the difference that was found in the previous step is not correct, adjust each link assembly by
the same number of turns.

Note: After the adjustment has been made, the tie rods must be of equal length.

8. Use the procedure in "Clamp Positioning" to align the tie rod with the clamp assembly. Failure to
correctly locate the clamp assembly on the tie rod could shorten the service life of the tie rod
assembly.

9. Lower the front of the truck.

1. Position the clamp assembly (4) on tie rod (3). Refer to Illustration 2.

2. Align the open portion of the clamp assembly (4) with one of the slots in tie rod (3). Refer to
Illustration 3.

3. Tighten nut (5) .
