Art Show Begins Tomorrow
STURBRIDGE — The
Fifth Annual Sturbridge Arts
and Crafts Show open
tomorrow evening “and
continues through Sunday.
For the first year the show
will be held at the Sneliville
Art Center, headquarters of
the Sturbridge Art
Association, who sponsor the
show. Four tents have been
‘et up for the event at the art
Center grounds, the corner
‘of Arnold Road and Route 20.
Artists participating in the
‘show are from various towns
in New England and New
York. Artists in the fine arts
categories will display their
work in three 29 by 40 foot
tents,
Also for the second year,
crafts will be equally
Tepresented. The erafis
exhibits and demonstrations
will be housed in one large
tent, 100 by 40 feet
Duplication "of craft
demonstrations has been
avoided
Various groups within the
Art Association will also
conduct special exhibits
There will also be’ an
exhibit by the Sturbridge

that of the Timothy Newell
House. The house was built
in 1792. Tt was at one time
Used @s the Town Farm.
More recently it was bought
by Frank Nichols of South:
bridge who took the
photograph about 20 years
ago. Nichols operated the
building as 2 tourist home.
The building was demolished
in May of 1970 to make way
{for the Southbound lane of 1-
86,

Sturbridge future.
The Arts and Craft Show
‘opens tomorrow from 8 t0 10
Pam. Saturday from noon to
10 p.m. and Sunday from
oon to 6 p.m. Admission is
free,
