EMERGENCY BATTERY OPERATED POWER SUPPLY (EBOPS)

Chloride Power Systems and Solutions Limited, formerly known as Caldyne Automatics Limited, is a 100% subsidiary of
Exide Industries Limited. Established in 1980, it is a leading name in the field of Industrial Battery Charger, DC Power
Solutions and Solar Power systems in India. As a part of its policy of continuous innovation, Chloride introduces its
integrated Emergency Board Operated Power Supply.
EBOPS is an emergency hot standby backup power supply system mainly used in elevators. All the emergency services in the
elevator (i.e. intercom, lights, fan, emergency alarm etc) are connected to it. In case of normal AC supply all the emergency
services of elevator connected to EBOPS operate from the AC mains and the battery connected to it gets charged. If the AC
mains power supply fails then EBOPS instantly switches to its battery operated backup power mode and powers all the
equipment connected to it till the mains power is restored or the battery gets fully exhausted. Moreover EBOPS has a pure sine
wave output. It also has a safe maintenance mode which makes the equipment available for maintenance. In this mode it
transfers its entire connected load directly to mains power supply bypassing the equipment. If any device connected to EBOPS
output starts malfunctioning or fails (when it is in backup power mode), it has a provision of raising alarm in the control room.
Such equipment is mandatory in an elevator in Singapore and many other countries.

5. Batteries are housed inside the EBOPS - no extra space required for battery installation.
6. Fully automatic operation.
7. Meters on front panel for measuring voltage and current.
8. LED lamps to indicate all important information and fault monitoring.
9. Maintenance switch in ON position enables maintenance work to be carried out bypassing the whole equipment.
10. EBOPS is designed for 24 Volt and 12V DC systems.
11. Rated load on EBOPS is 130 Watt.
12. During discharge, inverter cuts-off the battery at a voltage of 22 Volt/11Votl.
13. Battery is charged at a maximum current of 4 A.
14. Overload tripping is at 150 Watt.
15. There are six terminals for DC output P1, N1, P2, N2, P3, and N3. P1 & N1 are dedicated for battery connections. The rest
are for output DC load.
