 How many selection devices will you deploy and in what order?

Initial Screening:

Resume Screening: Based on Resume to eliminate the candidates who does not have
the skills, abilities, education, or experience outlined in the job description. The
resumes are also put through resume assessment grid to rank the applicants based
on their skills. Considering the number of responses, to speed up the evaluation
process, we use software to scan resumes to find the qualified applicants.

Telephonic Interviews: This is done to narrow down the field and save time by
eliminating candidates who are not likely to be hired.

Application forms: Application forms are the means to gather consistent information
about the candidate. Asking applicants to transcribe specific resume material onto
standardized application help to alleviate problems like exaggeration of qualifications.

Employment Interviews:

Considering the number of applicants is reduced through initial screening, Personal


interview is conducted to further screen the applicants. This is the most important
part, as it gives an opportunity of direct interaction with the candidate and assess
their skills.

Post-Interview Screening:

Reference Checks: This is done to check the credibility of the information that the
applicant has provided. We can use telephonic process or e-mails to do this.
Information form the direct managers of the applicant’s past working place is
considered most reliable.

Resume Screening: It can be done manually or using a software. Considering the


number of applicants, resume scanning software can be used. The cost involved is
based on its subscription plans.

Telephonic Interviews and Reference Checks: It may take 5 to 10 mins in both


processes. The cost will depend on the network plan the company has subscribed to.

Application Forms: It can be made online. Either we can post an application form on
the website or through mail. We can ask the applicants to fill the form and scan &
upload it or send it via mail. Or, we can make an online application form. The cost
involved is the internet handling charges or the website maintenance cost.

Employment Interviews: This process should not cost much because we are using the
company’s resources to do this.
