TEACHER COMMENT: Very enthusiastically Eden tackled the subjects that we covered
this semester in Theme. He thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Rainforests and was able
to use his prior knowledge to develop the concepts that we covered. He completed a very
interesting Rainforest Newspaper and put a lot of effort into its completion. In the Explorer
Unit, he understood the concepts covered but found it somewhat difficult to organize all of the
information in his head. In finding out about his artifact, the compass, he was able to gain a
greater understanding of what the Explores did and how they lived during the Age of
Exploration.

TEACHER COMMENT: Eden has very good speaking skills and is able to express himself
very well in class. He is a good writer and can organize his ideas clearly using both a graphic
organizer and open-ended discussion. However, I would encourage him to concentrate more
on his writing because I am convinced that he can produce writing that demonstrates what
thoughts and ideas he has inside and right now, because of lack of enthusiasm and the need to
finish quickly, he did not produce work that truly reflects his ability. I would like to see Eden
give his 100%.
