ABSTRACT
With this laboratory practice, the damping capacity of the amino acids
cysteine and arginine was determined. It was necessary to measure the initial
pH of the previously studied amino acid. It was carried out by the titration
method, measuring the pH variation by adding minimum amounts of basic
solution and taking data from the base (NaOH) added to the acid (HCl). Using
the pH meter to obtain the titration curve and determine the pK of the amino
acid.
