At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

A. Explains the traditional music of Afica by using concept map;

B. Performs traditional African music using improvised sound and;

C. Listens perceptively the Afro-Latin American and Popular music. MU10AP-IIa-h-3

B. LESSON PROPER

a. MOTIVATION

The teacher will listen to the student with some Afro-Latin and popular music. After
listening, the following questions will be asked:

1. What is the rhythm of the song? Describe if it is strong or low.

2. For you, what african ceremony tbat reflects to the song that you heard?
b. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON

The teacher will explain various traditional African music using concept map.

c. APPLICATION

The class will group into four each group chooses one of the traditional music of Africa and they
perform it through imptovised sounds such as clapping, tapping chair and etc.

d. GENERALIZATION

1. From the description of African music discussed, do you still hear such music on the radio,
television, youtube and others? If so which type are these?

2. What is your favorite African traditional music? Why? What religious expression does thia
reflects?

IV. ASSESSMENT

Direction: Identify the different traditional music of Africa, choose the answer inside the box.
