A. Production Manger
Definition:
 Production Manager/s is concerned with the design and implementation of
system and process for getting work done.
 It involved with the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing
processes. Also it makes sure goods and services are produced efficiently and
that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality.
Objective:
 To create the end product in the market in the right quantity, of the right quality,
at the right time, economically.
Responsibility:
• Product Planning
– Often top management work involving all sectors of the firm.
• Process Planning
– Involves determining required machine, tools, men and method.
• Physical Facilities Management
– Considering the heavy investment on manufacturing facilities.

• Production Planning and Control


– Involves forecasting demand for the company’s product and converting
the forecast in terms of the needs of various factors of production
• Quality Control
– Responsible for the provision of the correct product quality to the
consumer, consisted with the minimum resources used.
• Methods of Improvement
– A never ending research on how must develop an alternative methods and
choose the efficient one.
• Work Measurement
– Application techniques of designed to establish the time for a qualified
worker to carry out a specific job at a defined level of performance.
• Material Management
– A comprehensive inventory control system, including production planning,
scheduling, and control must be closely coordinated with other planning
and control activities.
• Personnel Management
– Application of different management functions to personnel engaged by
the enterprise to optimize their contribution toward realization of corporate
objectives.

B. Management Process

Definition of Management Process


 A process of setting goals, planning and/or controlling the organizing and leading
the execution of any type of activity, such as: a project (project management
process) or a process (process management process, sometimes referred to as
the process performance measurement and management system).
Importance of Management Process
 It helps in Achieving Group Goals - It arranges the factors of production,
assembles and organizes the resources, integrates the resources in effective
manner to achieve goals. It directs group efforts towards achievement of pre-
determined goals.

• Planning
– Defined as the process, by which, you decide the mission and objectives
of the firm and take necessary steps to achieve the desired objectives. At
the same time, you need to determine the future trends in business and
incorporate change and innovation into the organization from time to time.
• Organizing
– Organizing is the process of assigning tasks and allocating resources to
individuals to enable them to accomplish organizational goals.
• Directing
– It is the management function that involves being influencer and inspiring
team members to perform well and accomplish corporate objectives.
• Controlling
– The final step in the management process is where you monitor the
progress of an organization towards its goals.
