This year’s work consists of the following mathematical units:

Grading policy
• All math grades will be written as a percentage out of 100%.
• The student must show his or her work/steps on all math papers in order to
receive full credit.
• Weekly grades and missing assignments will be posted by student’s
PowerSchool number. Student may find this information posted outside
the classroom door.

The following categories and weights will be used throughout the school year:

Tests/projects… 30%
Quizzes… 20%
Homework/technology… 10%
CW tasks and A.I.M. 20%
Weekly warm-ups… 15%
Binder check… 5% +
Grand total… 100%
Absentee/late work
Any work can be found in the “While you were out…” section of the classroom.
We have two crates, one for Binder work and one for A.I.M. Notebook pages.
Students have 5 days to complete work after an excused absence. Unexcused
absentee work may still be accepted for a 30-percent penalty.
• No late work will be accepted after the close of a unit.

Tardy log
When arriving late, both excused and unexcused, the student signs the “Tardy
Log” located near the classroom door. The student must arrive with a pass.

Restroom log
Students must use Mrs. Morgan’s Dragons Bathroom Pass and sign In and Out of
the “Restroom Log.”

Team points
Students sit in collaborative learning groups. Teams earns team points by staying
on task, completing homework, cooperating with one another, and abiding by
other classroom and school rules. The team earning the most points at the end
of the week will receive a prize from the “Prize Box.”

Online work
The students use the class website for various assignments, including HW
correction, quiz preparation, differentiated work, and A.I.M. Notebook.

Student class number


Each student receives a class number. Class numbers determine which
computer, calculator, textbook, classroom chore, and station work the student
receives.

Work expectations
➢ Expect HW every night.
➢ Expect 2 quizzes a week.
➢ Expect online work.
➢ Expect a unit test for every unit.
➢ Expect to be held accountable

Consequences ladder
All Dragon teachers abide by the color-coded consequences ladder posted in
his/her classroom.
Mrs. Morgan uses praise, positive emails home, and prizes from her prize box as
positive reinforcements. Student teams earn prizes weekly.
