DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION

FOR A TEACHING POSITION IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL
FOR NATIONALS OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

1. Application for Employment Form S.C – 124, in duplicate

2. All applicants must be between the ages of 18-44 years for positions of Secondary School Teachers.
3. The Original and two (2) copies of each of the following documents:
(a) Birth Certificate with supporting Statutory Declaration
(b) Marriage Certificate with supporting Statutory Declaration
(c) Academic qualifications –

(i) Five (5) subjects at CXC GENERAL PROFICIENCY – Grades I, II or III or General
Certificate of Education (GCE) Grades A, B or C. Please note Grade III has been a
pass as of June 1998.
• Mathematics (Compulsory)
• English (Compulsory)
• Any other three (3) CXC subjects
• Plus a Bachelor’s Degree. All degrees from foreign Universities need to be
accredited by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT)

N.B. – In cases where statements are to be used in lieu of Certificate/Diplomas, two (2) original statements
are required.

Please note you are required to submit:

(ii) Two (2) copies of the official transcript of your degree(s), which must be sent by
the University/Institute directly to the above address; or

(iii) Two (2 ) copies of the official transcript of the Craftsman/Technician Diploma,

which must be sent by the National Examination Council of Trinidad and Tobago
directly to the above address.

(iv) One (1) copy of a detailed course outline of all courses pursued for the degree if
obtained from a Foreign University/Institution

(d) Documentary evidence of at least two (2) years Industrial Experience, after having obtained the
Craftsman Diploma, referred to at (iii).

(e) Two (2) testimonials, not from members of the Teaching Service or equivalent (lecturers), and not
older than six (6) months at the time of the application. Testimonials that are hand written will
not be accepted.

(f) Teachers Registration Number Receipt

(g) Two (2) passport size photographs not more than three (3) months old

4. You are also required to furnish some form of identification, e.g Identification Card or Passport. All
applications should be submitted by hand at the above address, so that original documents can be
returned.
