Business Logic
Having a philosophy is having a general guideline in life, for how to live a life and
to certain extent most of us have these, in varying degrees of articulation. We might think
of philosophies as a personal mottoes, or personal codes or point of view – a way of
seeing and making sense of the world and our experiences.
Having a philosophy can also mean having a general guideline about a specific
activity or an aspect of life such as when an entrepreneur has a business philosophy. A
business philosophy might sound like “economic growth is inseparable from sustaining
interpersonal relationships”.
As such, generally, philosophy like these give us a sense of what an activity is for
(specifically in terms of the goals the activity is turned toward), indicating the purpose of
that activity, or what an activity is or should be about.
Finally, having philosophies also gives us a sense on how to think about certain
things. Having philosophies involve personal codes and guidelines which are
understandable by themselves in term of purpose as well as particular ways of thinking.
Having a purpose and a point of view is applicable not only to a person, but also to
social institutions. Each one has own mission and vision statement that articulates their
function, objective and methods.
VALUE OF PHILOSOPHY
Starting philosophize involves realizing that amidst all the things we know –
amidst all our perspectives and certain ideas about things in life and our experiences –
there are always something we do not know, something we have not thought about, or
some way we have never thought of thinking.
