DOST Mandate
• Executive Order No. 128 mandates the
Department to “provide central direction,
leadership and coordination of scientific and
technological efforts and ensure that the
results therefrom are geared and utilized in
areas of maximum economic and social
benefits for the people”.

A system of bunds, furrows, canals, dams, plants and pond designed


and installed to keep as much rainfall within the watershed as possible.
The India Experience

A system for collection of kitchen waste, composting


them using earthworms, manure from household level
animal husbandry, and using the compost for
household vegetable gardens and farms.
Water ATM that allowed withdrawal
The India Experience of drinking water from a water tank was
developed and institutionalized.

inventory of GI in the Philippines (human
resources, facilities, IPs including traditional
knowledge, movers, catalysts, support
programs and projects; knowing about the
ecosystem where these GIs are operating
