Class: VI Subject: General Science Chapter: #15 CELLS

Topic: CELL AND INSIDE THE CELL

No. of period required : 01 Duration: 35 Minutes

1. Objectives: By the end of this lesson students will be able to:


 Define cell and its type with example.
 Identify major organelle of animal cell and describe their individual functions.

2. Educational Aids& References :


 a bag/container of items simulating animal organelle parts
 Textbook content at page no. 174

3. Motivation & Introduction: (5 minutes)


Teacher will start by discussing the prior knowledge regarding the cell and its type and
student will be asked to write it in their copies.

4. Presentation / Methodology: ( 15 minutes)


 Class will be divided into groups and each group will ask students to pay specific
attention to organelle within the cell looking at general location, size and shape and
discuss the function of each part of organelle of animal cell.

 Each group will be furnished with a bag/container of items simulating animal organelle
parts. Students will be asked to build a model of either a animal cell using items provided
by the teacher. The teacher will be circulating around and within the groups asking follow
up questions, probing for information and looking for errors in thinking or flawed rationale
in the construction of the models. At the conclusion of this activity, students will be asked
to randomly to verbally explain their groups rationale for using specific items to represent
various organelle parts.

5. Recapitulation / Summary: (5 minutes)


In order to summarize the topic teacher will throw the ball towards the student and that
student which will caught the ball have to tell the function of the organelle

6. Evaluation / Assessment (of Students): (5 minutes)


Students can be challenged to use their knowledge of animal’s cell organelle functions to
compare the cell parts to parts of a thriving community (city).

7. Assignment: (5 minutes)
 Learn the name and function of major organelle of animal cell.

1. Objectives : By the end of this lesson students will be able to:


 Define cell and its type with example.
 Identify major organelle of plant cell and describe their individual functions.

2. Educational Aids& References :


 a bag/container of items simulating plant organelle parts
 Textbook content at page no. 177

3. Motivation & Introduction: (3 Minutes)


Teacher will start by showing a model of plant cell and student will be asked to draw the
diagram of plant cell in their copies.

4. Presentation / Methodology: (20 minutes)


 Class will be divided into groups and each group will ask students to pay specific attention
to organelle within the cell looking at general location, size and shape and discuss the
function of each part of organelle of plant cell.

 Each group will be furnished with a bag/container of items simulating animal organelle
parts. Students will be asked to build a model of plant cell using items provided by the

Topic: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PALNT AND ANIMAL CELL

No. of period required : 01 Duration: 35 Minutes

1. Objectives: By the end of this lesson students will be able to:


 Differentiate between structure in plant and animal cell organelles.

2. Educational Aids& References :


 Plant and animal cell model diagram
 Textbook page no.176

3. Motivation & Introduction: (5 minutes)


Teacher will show model or diagram of both plant and animal cell and will ask students to
pay specific attention to organelle within the cell looking at general location, size and shape
and discuss the function of each part of organelle of plant and animal cell.

4. Presentation / Methodology: (17 minutes)

 Teacher will write question on the whiteboard in a column regarding the organelles and
student have to use the diagram of plant and animal cell to answer that question.

 Student will be asked to write down differences in their copies

5. Recapitulation / Summary: (5 minutes)


Worksheet will be distributed and student have to tick or cross in front of the mentioned
organelle.

6. Evaluation / Assessment (of Students): (5 minutes)


Teacher will draw a graphic designer on the whiteboard and student based on their
knowledge will fill empty space.

7. Assignment: (3 minutes)

Learn the difference between animal and plant cell.
