1. Camino is a spiritual exercise that demands sacrificing one’s comfort to strengthen our faith.

It is depriving
oneself of the usual securities, perks, etc. to be able to recognize God’s presence even in the lowest moments of our
life.

2. Fill up the registration form right after shelling out the registration fee.

3. Secure your Official Pilgrim’s Passport and Pilgrim’s Scallop. Make sure to get your passport stamped with the
different logos of the different chapels, parishes, etc. along the way. Wear at all times the Pilgrim Scallop provided
for you to be readily recognized as a peregrino.

4. Pay a short visit to each parish church or chapel before proceeding.

5. Do not forget to bring with you a ‘’small stone’’ from your home. It will symbolize your whole self—all your
prayers, petitions, endeavors, concerns, etc. Other connotations depend on one’s intention. Place it at the foot of St.
James the Apostle (Church Patio).

6. Some people you meet along the way will ask you to pray for their intentions—written on a piece of paper, or
expressed directly before you. Prayer intentions on paper can also be placed at the foot of St. James.

7. Walk according to your pace. Signages are placed to show directions. A map is provided for your perusal. Rest if
you may; this is not a race. It is a personal walk, a spiritual exercise.

8. Have yourself health checked-up prior to the walk. Check your medical records. Bring your personal
medications, if needed.

9. Prepare yourself mentally, physically and spiritually. Condition your mind, do regular exercise for cardio-related
concerns, and believe in God’s providence. Expect the unexpected. Never hesitate in asking for anyone’s help. Sign a
waiver which releases the El Camino de Santiago de Quingua, the Diocese of Malolos, the Camino organizers or
guides of any liability resulting from illness or natural causes.

10. Bring things that are ONLY NECESSARY. Examples are comfortable t-shirts, mat/sleeping bag/malong,
comfortable shoes with socks, cycling or elastic undershorts, sunglasses, a raincoat, etc.

11. Rehydrate once in a while. Bring with you your WATER CONTAINER. You may ask our local residents to have
your water container refilled when needed.

12. Secure your meals for these days—keep the weight of your backpack light though. However, you can buy from
stalls/small stores along the way. Chocolates or energy bars are advantageous as well.

13. Keep or pack one’s garbage; or dispose of them properly. Bring them to urban centers where regular collection
is observed. Maintain faithfully the cleanliness of the Camino trail ways. Practice decency when answering the call
of nature.

14. Respect our locals. When you need anything, simply introduce yourself, show them your Scallop and Passport,
and they’ll be readily available for you.

15. Enjoy the Camino experience. Listen to yourself. Listen to God as well. Remember this always: “Your walk is
your prayer; your journey, an encounter with your God.”
