Micro-Project Proposal
Title of Micro-Project: Water Cycle

1.0 Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project:

1. Provides water for our population, animals and plants.

2. Provides fish to eat.
3. Evaporation and infiltration help to remove impurities from water.
4. The water cycle is that the earth's population doesn't have to produce any more water
than what we already have because we use the same water.
5. The water cycle is powered from solar energy. 86% of the global evaporation occurs
from the oceans, reducing their temperature by evaporative cooling.

2.0 Course Outcomes Addressed:

a) Develop Programs using Swing, ActionListener etc. In Advanced Java.

b) Demonstrate the use of switch-case statement.

Assessment Manual
Of

Micro-Project
Diploma in Information Technology
Fifth Semester
Preface
The primary focus of any engineering laboratory/ field work in the technical
education system is to develop the much-needed industry relevant competencies and skill.
With this in view, MSBTE embarked on this innovative ‘I’ scheme curricula for engineering
diploma programmes with outcome-based education (OBE) as the focus and accordingly,
relatively large amount o time is allotted for the practical work and micro project. This
displays the great importance of micro project work making each teacher, instructor and
student to realize that every minute of the laboratory time need to be effectively utilized to
develop these outcomes, rather than doing other mundane activities. Therefore, for the
successful implementation of this outcome-based curriculum, every course has been designed
to serve as a ‘vehicle’ to develop this industry identified competency in every student. The
practical skills are difficult to develop through ‘chalk and duster’ activities in the classroom
situation. Accordingly, the ‘I’ scheme micro project assessment manual development team
designed the micro project outlines focus on the outcomes, rather than the traditional age-old
practice of conducting practical to ‘verify the theory’ (which may become a by-product along
the way).
This micro project assessment manual is designed to help all stakeholders. Especially
the students, teachers and instructor to develop in the student the predetermined outcome. It is
expected from each student that at the beginning of term for all related courses s/he must
finalized team members and title of micro project under the guidance of course faculty every
micro project in this manual begins by identifying the competency, industry relevant skills,
course outcomes and practical outcomes which serve as a key focal point for doing the micro
project. The students will then become aware about the skills they will achieve through
procedure and product in solving real- world problems in their professional life.
This manual also provides guidelines to teachers and instructors to effectively
facilitate student-centred lab activities through each micro project by arranging and managing
necessary resources in order that the students follow the procedures and precautions
systematically ensuring the achievement of outcomes in the students.

GUIDE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT PRINCIPAL

Micro-Project Report
Title of Micro-Project: Water Cycle

1.0 Rationale:

Online Examination System project could be a web portal which is developed or

implemented in java domain or platform. This project is helpful for students to practice
different mock examinations from this site. In current generation lots of the examinations
like GRE, CAT, and MAT…etc. is conducted through online system. This project will
help students to get practiced to online examination method by taking mock tests from
this web portal. Online Examination System portal is implemented in 2 modules student
examination module and examination admin module. Admin module will add multiple
courses under different branches so students can easily know about test details. Student
examination module students ought to register with application and choose interested
courses and participate in the online test.

The Online test created for taking online test has following features:
 In comparison to the present system the proposed system will be less time-
consuming and is more efficient.
 Analysis will be very easy in proposed system as it is automated.
 Result will be very precise and accurate and will be declared in very
 In short span of time because calculation and evaluations are done by the
Simulator itself.
 The proposed system is very secure as no chances of leakage of question
paper as it is dependent on the administrator only.
 The logs of appeared candidates and their marks are stored and can be backup
for future use

Project Objective:

 Online Examination System can reduce the hectic job of assessing the answers
given by candidates manually.
 Responses or the answers by the candidates can be checked automatically and
instantly.
 It will reduce paper work to be an integrated Online Examination System.
 The result can be shown immediately to the students reducing the anxiety.
 Can create various reports and graphs for evaluation purpose almost instantly
when and where required.

2.0 Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project:

1. Nowadays Student does not have Habit to complete their Test in given Period of
Time.
2. Immediate result Providing Feature is available. It allows Students to know their
Mistakes Immediately on receiving Result. It helps to increase their recognizing
credibility.
3. Student can also recheck their paper by themselves.
4. Online Test reduces the wastage of Bundles of Papers.
5. Quick and easy understandable Test process. Student can edit their answers before
final submission of Test.

3.0 Course Outcomes Addressed:

a) Develop Programs using Swing, ActionListener etc. In Advanced Java.

b) Demonstrate the use of switch-case statement.
c) Demonstrate the use of if statement.
d) Demonstrate the use of Applet.

4.0 Literature Review:

This section examines the related works on the online examination systems. In order
to judge the desired features in practice, these systems are subjected to the elected features
discussed in the previous section. The following subsections contain a Short description and
features for existing online examination systems.

 You never have to print an exam for your students and hand them out. Saves
paper. Saves trees. Everybody happy.
 You can setup an exam in such a way that it will auto-grade itself. If you
only use multiple choice questions you never have to check an exam
again. The online exam system will take care of that hassle. Completely
automated.
 The distribution of the exam doesn’t take you any time. Just upload the
email addresses of your students and send them an invite. And after the
exam they get their result instantly.
 Students don't have to travel to a specific location to conduct the exam. So
even for students from remote area's it's possible to take the exam.
