RATIONALE
Throughout the years, the Lord has faithfully blessed our chapters, and this is evident in our
growing number of members. As stewards entrusted by the Lord, this calls us to be fully accountable to
sustain all our members through our households and assemblies. Deliberately learning the dynamics
would crucially help our assemblies more appealing and nourishing to the young. Our households and
assemblies should bring people into God’s presence in a vibrant and youthful atmosphere.
OBJECTIVES
DYNAMICS
1. Workshop proper
2. Activity (Mock chapter assembly/collective household)
3. Open Forum
TALK OUTLINE
I. Introduction
Chapter assemblies and collective households are avenues for everyone to build and nurture
relationships. YFC members are always excited to go out of their house and meet with their friends.
That’s why whenever there are activities; they are always on the go. In YFC we provide them
alternative set of friends and wholesome activity, we make sure that in all of our activities the 4Fs are
experienced. This is not achieved in one-time-big-time activity. For that reason, we make every
gathering a great experience to YFC. We see to it that every assembly will bring our members into
God’s presence.
II. Elements that make a Chapter Assembly
The CHAPTER ASSEMBLY is a gathering of all YFC chapter members that occurs regularly once a month.
a. Relationships
The Chapter assemblies and collective households are opportunities for the new and old YFC
members to see and bond with each other. This is also a chance for everyone to build new
friendships and strengthen the relationship of the assembly.
b. Worship
The worship is the time when the people get to be in God’s presence. In our community, we
worship with songs of praise and hear the message of the Lord. The role of the worship leader is
very crucial in leading the worship. His goal is to encourage and bring everyone to pray. Moreover,
he will set the posture of the people of what the Lord wants to convey.
c. Talk / Activity
The talk or the activity develops the whole message of the assembly. It is important that this
will be delivered in a manner understandable to the youth. The topics are available from the
Chapter Topic Manual and other supplemental materials (Advocacy Manual etc.) while the topics
of the Collective Household is available from the Household Topic Manual.
d. Sharing
The sharing is conducted to enhance the message of the assembly. This will help the listeners
understand and capture the points. It is encouraged that the sharers will be YFC members so that
the listeners can easily relate with the message. This usually talks about the victories,
challenges/trials, conversions of our members. During assemblies, the team can prepare two
sharers and may encourage more sharers on the day itself. The team should listen first to the
sharer before the start of the assembly.
This is when the Chapter leader connects all the parts of the assembly from the worship,
talk/activity, and sharing. This is where the group prays, responds to God. If there are any birthday
celebrants, this is also the part when we will pray for them.
III. Collective Household
The COLLECTIVE HOUSEHOLD is an alternative setup of household wherein when the chapter gathers
in one venue to worship and then disperses for household group sharing. Collective Household is not
intended to replace the Chapter Assembly but it is an alternative to the regular house-to-house
households of the members.
b. Topic – A common topic is taken from Household Manual and is discussed by the household
heads in their respective groups.
Note: the topic can also be discussed briefly to the whole chapter before everyone go to their
respective household groups.
c. Dynamics
i. The participants are instructed to proceed to their own household groups and find a
space within the venue after the opening program or orientation.
ii. The groups are given specific time to finish the flow of a household prayer meeting.
iii. Everyone will gather again as one assembly for the sharing, reminders, and closing
prayer.

1. People Dynamics
It is good that the chapter leader knows what works best for people. It is better if he has
a good stock of stories, jokes and anecdotes. One of his roles is to keep the attention of
crowd and excite them of what is about to happen.
3. Listening
The chapter leader should be the most attentive in the assembly. He needs to listen to
sharers, speakers, and to the prophecy. Mainly because God’s Word is spread out in so
many parts in the assembly. He then connects all the points that God said during the
whole assembly. That’s why it is important for the leader to listen intently. He should take
down the important points of the talk / sharing.
4. Exhortation
The chapter leader is expected to excite people and give them reason enough to give
praise and thanksgiving to God in whatever state the crowd is at the moment. There are
two kinds of exhortation:
i. Exhort people to worship (3-5 mins). This can be a story from the bible or a
personal experience. This will encourage people to be in the right posture for the
worship – to honor Him, listen to Him, and to praise Him.
ii. Summary – based on the sharings and the talk. This exhortation encourages
people to respond to God’s word. It challenges the members to respond. The
assembly should say something like, “This is what God said, … and I believe
brothers and sisters that HE is telling us to…” That should be ended with a prayer.
a. The ideal seating arrangement in an assembly is square or oval where everyone can hear the
speaker in front.
b. Avoid having the listeners face the door or window so that the people entering/passing by
won’t distract them.
c. Gathering songs are intended to gather members---No matter how many people are there
during the assembly, the Music Ministry should start singing or teaching songs.
d. Don’t start with an apology, Start Confidently!
e. Once people are gathered, before you introduce the start with the worship leader, introduce
and recognize new people to the group.
VII. Workshop Output
a. The participants will be asked to prepare a mock assembly, taking note of all the elements
and considerations they need to prepare for an assembly.
b. The facilitator may assign the participants with specific roles that they will take on in the mock
assembly.
VIII. Conclusion
Now that we know the basic and essential parts of a Chapter Assembly and Collective Household, let
us not keep this to our notebooks. Rather let this be our guiding formula. The Lord has provided us
ways how we can have effective assemblies. This is His gift to us; let us make this gift a blessing to us
and to other people especially to the youth.
APPENDIX
Mock Chapter Assembly
The Mock Chapter Assembly is conducted in order for the new Chapter Heads to get a good grasp of
what transpires throughout the whole activity. The goal is for them to learn how to handle the
assembly, understand how the members may feel or react during the event, and have awareness on
the various skills and tips that they need to work on. In conducting this mock assembly, it is important
for the team to take note of the following guidelines:
1. All the participants will act as the service team of the Mock Chapter Assembly, while the
service team will act as participants.
2. The speaker will assign a brother participant to be the leader of the mock assembly
3. From there, the participant-acting-team leader will decide on what assignment he/she will
give to other participants, such as who would be the speaker, secretariat, program, sharer,
emcee, logistics etc.
4. The participants are given twenty (20) to thirty (30) minutes to prepare.
5. After thirty (30) minutes, the mock assembly is started by the participant-acting-team leader.
6. The service team, who are now acting as participants, will take on certain roles throughout
the mock assembly. The roles portray different kinds of attitudes that members may display
throughout an Assembly for example, being the shy one, one who is too loud, the one who’s
bored, etc.
7. The mock assembly can have a duration of twenty (20) minutes. It is expected that all the
elements are complete and the suggested schedule of a typical Chapter Assembly is practiced.
8. The service team should observe how the participants are conducting the event.
9. After the mock assembly, the speaker can ask at least two (2) to three (3) participants to
share.
10. The speaker will then give specific inputs, observations, and suggestions, about the activity.
