Project Management vs Task Management paper:

TASK Management:
Task Visibility - currently all tasks are visible to the team as soon as it gets added.

May be that certain tasks are yet to be finalized / confirmed. These tasks should not be visible to the
concerned team member - we can add a show in timesheet flag/checkbox - only those tasks checked for
display @timesheet, would get displayed.

Changing start date / end date of multiple or related tasks - can provide checkbox for selecting tasks and
allow user to add or subtract days to current start date. So for example if a certain task has been
scheduled for 20th August however, due post an internal meet the priority has changed, a certain
module or set of tasks scheduled for 1st week of september need to be taken up on 20th August
instead.

the user can search in task list, select the related tasks originally scheduled for 20th August and provide
10 days to Add to current start date of selected tasks.

automatically, the start date of all tasks selected would get added by 10 days - so to 20th Aug, the app
will add 10 days to arrive at new start date of 30 Aug.

for tasks whose timesheet entry has been updated partially, we can change the status of that task to On-
Hold and provide a date until the concerned task would be on hold. The task would be visible in the
timesheet until the week, when the task was put on hold and thereafter would not be visible until the
date, when the said task will switch back from on-Hold. for example, if the task is put on hold from today
- 18th Aug 2017 until 04-Sep-2017. the task would be visible in the timesheet from its original start date
until the date it was put on hold (18th Aug), post 18 Aug, the task will be hidden and will not be visible
to the user until after 4th Sep. From 5th Sept, the task would again appear in the timesheet of the
assigned user.

Project Execution Tips

Trying to close each and every email before 11 is not vision, its a goal.

We all have goals but no vision or none of our day to day or immediate goals are tied to any vision.

The idea is not to close the each and every email received by 11am by EOd, the idea is work in a more
organized structured civilized developed urban manner. The idea has to be to assign prority to each
email / activity - whether your teams goal is inline with the goal of the sales team or marketing team the
accounts team and hence the business vision.

If you don’t know where you’re going, you will probably end up somewhere else....

Be st Practice s

At its best, project management is as much art as science. Getting to the true objectives

and requirements can be tough enough. Then you must mix scope, time,

cost, quality, resources, and other constraints in the right proportions to achieve

those objectives. For example, if quality is the key to differentiating a product

from the competition, a longer schedule and higher budget might be the preferred

choice. If getting that same product to market before the competition is

critical, reducing the product features (scope), increasing the size of your team, or

accepting a slightly higher level of errors (reducing quality) might be better.

As project manager, you can’t change constraints such as time, cost, or the resources

assigned. However, you can control how you use them. If you can make

your plan work without affecting anything or anyone outside of your project

team, you can push on without having to ask for anyone’s permission.

If you can’t make your plan work, you can seek permission to change one or

more of your project’s constraints. For example, you can go to the management

team with hat in hand, asking for more resources to shorten the schedule. As

a last resort, you can appeal to the customer for more time, more money, or a

reduction in scope.

Documentation - To be Filed vs To be referred.

Sample Project Execution:

ZoomX - portal for LIC Agents

Data is common
- newsletters

- custom notifications

- greetings

- plan presentations

ZoomX has a common Data repository.

each site has a templated design.

dealer has to select a template for the design

based on the template selected, the ZoomX site for the dealer is setup and the domain is configured by
datacomp on their cloud server.

dealer can also make change request.

- color change

- banner

- static page.

BDM gets new order --> order goes to support --> book domain name --> payment received --> ZoomX
team.

ZoomX team receives new orders aND ALSO change requests and also internal enhancements, which
need to be applied to all the current sites.

on receiving the new order or CR, the PL allocates a resource. the resurces makes the design and then
forawrds it to the tester.

the tester checks and asks the concerned dev for any fixes and then it is released.

there are many templates to choose from. Each template is configured as master page.
rest of the other pages are in aspx form.

when a customer selects a template, the team uses VS web express and adds the concerned master
page and then selects the css and js files and then adds the aspx pages and then builds and deploys it.

summarize steps for a new ZoomX website order

- after payment is received and the webspace is configured for asp.net framework:

. post production, some changes are received and worked upon. these changes can be for anything -
font, color, alignment, add/remove tabs/sections/menu. Photo gallery, awards, certificates, contact
page, profile -

why not have two sep teams.
