3.2 REGULATIONS TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN IFMSA-
EGYPT CANDIDATE MEMBERSHIP STATUS
3.2.1 Candidate membership is open to all medical students’ organizations.

3.2.2 A candidate member can maintain its status for a maximum of 10 GAs.

3.2.3 If candidate member didn't apply or applied and failed to get associate membership after 10
GAs since it was accepted, they lose their membership status, this decision needs to be approved
by the general assembly with 2/3 majority.

3.2.4 Candidate members have speaking rights but no proposing, voting or seconding rights at
General Assembly Meetings.

3.2.5 Delegates from candidate members are not eligible for IFMSA-Egypt Official positions.

3.2.6 Candidate members have the right to share in all of the Federation activities except the
exchange.

3.2.7 The Official IFMSA-Egypt Application requirements for Obtaining Candidate Membership
of IFMSA-Egypt' shall include:

a) The number of medical students who are members in the local committee.
b) Number of Medical Students' enrolled in the Medical School.
c) A brief description of the local committee’s current structure, activities and Officers.
d) A list of contacts of the Officers in the local committee.
e) A signed application form signed and stamped by the Administration of the Faculty.
f) 7 minutes presentation should be given during the GA for the new candidates LCs and
for changing membership status and 3 minutes for answering the General Assembly Questions

g) A written approval stating that the Local Committee will abide the Constitution and
Bylaws of IFMSA-Egypt at all times, signed and stamped by the Local President.
h) A copy of the regulations of the local committee.
The regulations must specify, at minimum, the official name, nature, principles and
objectives.

3.3 REGULATIONS TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN ASSOCIATE

3.3.1 Associate membership is open to all medical students’ organizations.

3.3.2 To obtain associate membership, applying LCs must have been a candidate member for a
complete year and in that time has proved its activity to the General Assembly.

3.3.3 Associate members have proposing and speaking rights but no voting or seconding rights at
General Assembly Meetings.

3.3.4 Delegates from associate members are eligible for Official and Constitution Credential
Committee positions.

3.3.5 The Official IFMSA-Egypt Application requirements for Obtaining Associate Membership
of IFMSA-Egypt shall include:
a) A copy of the regulations of the local committee.
The regulations must specify, at minimum, membership structure, Executive Board
structure and function, working groups, Officials, financial management procedures and bylaws.
b) Provide documents proving that it can host exchange students

3.4 REGULATIONS TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN FULL


MEMBERSHIP STATUS

3.4.1 To obtain and maintain full membership, all LC must meet the following requirements:
a) It must represent only one University that has a medical school.
b) Membership of the LC is open to all medical students within the University
c) It has been an Associate member for at least 6 ordinary IFMSA-Egypt GAs since
it was accepted as an Associate member
d) It has to pay in advance the membership fee for the financial year immediately
following to the year they apply for full membership at least one week before the 1st GA of the
year. The information and invoice about the payment should be given by the IFMSA-Egypt
Treasurer as soon as the Secretary General informs him about the application for the change of
status.
e) In case the application is not accepted or the full membership status is not granted by
the General Assembly the money will be refunded to the LC.
