P3 – COUNTING SYSTEM 1–8

2 – incremental pulses

Pre-limit switches are connected according to schemes in manual, »n« is for short drive speed.
Generally it is the same as parameters S07 and S08.
Additional pre-limit switches for normal speed are connected directly to frequency inverter,
»n« is for normal speed, generally the same as parameters S05 in S06.
Connection of “Stop in station” switches is as described in manual for P3 = 1. Minimal
distance “d” from picture below should be observed.
Minimal distances are:
Stop in station up
v <= 2m/s:
d1, d2, d3 > 40mm
d1
v = 3 m/s:
d1, d2, d3 > 60mm
d2
v = 4 m/s:
Landing level d1, d2, d3 > 80mm

Example:
d3 v=4m/s, 1 magnet 200mm,
Distance between switches
»Stop in station« is
Stop in station down between 80 and 120mm.

CAUTION!
Real position of switch on and of should be considered. There are different
influences on this point such as switch delay, hysteresis etc.

Learning:
- Lift should be above lower pre-limit switch and on normal drive mode when learning
(S03) is switched on. All the parameters should be set up correctly. Correct code
(2602) must be written to parameter S02.
- Lift goes to first drive, stops in station 1 and drives to upper station after that.
Positions of stations are scanned during this drive.
- If learning was carried out correctly, S03 is set to 0 and S12 to 1 by software in upper
station. Now we can check the positions of stations and leave the lift in normal
operation. Scanned positions of stations must be written to non-volatile memory in
the same way as other parameters (maintenance mode + W or 0).
- If learning was not performed correctly or we wish to perform it again we should set
parameter S03 to 0 and again to 1 after that. Code (S02) must be write in too.
- Some possible seasons for not correct performed learning are:
o Wrong connection or operation of switches “Stop in station” or pre-limit
switches. See connection in manual for P3=1!
o Encoder doesn’t work – when lift moves LED on »Slow speed« input should
blink.
o Not correct setting of parameter S04 or encoder pulse divider (if exists). See
instructions for encoder pulse divider!
o Not correct setting of other parameters – see basic settings in manual!
Limits:
- Slow speed distance for short drive (S07, S08) must be shorter than half of distance
between the nearest two successive stations. Parameters S07 and S08 must be set up
even if short drive is not used!
- Slow speed distance of normal (contract) speed (S05, S06) must be shorter than the
shortest distance between five successive stations.
- Distances S05 and S06 should be at least for 2 x S11 larger then distances S07 and
S08.

CAUTION!
• “P22 SWITCH DE-BOUNCE TIME” should be set to e.g. 0,5s for high-speed lifts.
• Parameter “P18 DELAY SHORT DRIVE” must be set to zero when P3 = 2.
• First drive is performed with short drive speed and time is limited to 2 x “P21 TRAVEL
TIME – TEST SPEED”. Therefore, this parameter should be set up properly.
Example:
Short drive speed 1m/s, shaft height is 50m. Parameter “P21 TRAVEL TIME – TEST
SPEED” should be set to 40 seconds; lift has 80 seconds for first drive.

P15 OPERATION SYSTEM FOR EMPTYING 0–7

Definition of emptying which allows us to change operation system in defined time. E.g.
down collective system could be switched on during emptying of the building if normal
operation system is up and down collective.
Time interval of emptying is set up with parameters F10, F11, F12 and F13.
If the value of P15 is zero then operation system remains as it is set up with P2.

RECOMMENDATION FOR E-TYPE SERIAL MULTIPLEX:

Up and down collective system should be active on lift with serial line connected when
different operation systems are combined.

P35 CODE 0 - 65000

Code for enabling access to parameters P36 and P37. Default code is 0.

P36 NEW CODE 0 - 65000

Code can be changed by writing old code to P35 and new one to P36.

P37 NUMBER OF DRIVES (x100) 0 - 65000

Limited number of drives. After this counter comes to 1, lift will wait in station 2 minutes
with opened doors.
Each increment of this counter equals to 100 drives.
E.g.: If counter P37 is set to 11, it will be decreased to 1 after 10 x 100 = 1000 drives.
Setting P37 to 0 will disable limited operation, lift will operate normally.

NOTE
Parameters P35, P36 and P37 are supported in E-type program versions with extension C only
(e.g. 2.14C).
When E-type main module with code supporting program is switched on for a first time, error
19 appears. This is because code value is initialized to 0. After reset controller will work
normally.

6.10. 8S ENCODER SETTINGS

S01 Current lift position (read only) [mm]
This read only parameter displays current lift position, which is changed with encoder rotation
during the drive.

S02 Encoder code 2602

Code to avoid unwanted access to encoder menu.
S03 Learning on / off 1 = on 0 = off
CPU will read distances between stations. Lift will go down to bottom and than up to top.
Lift must not be stopped during this function.

S04 One encoder increment equals [mm/100]

Length of one encoder increment should be set up according to following procedure:
- Set up encoder pulse divider (if exists). See instructions for encoder pulse divider!
- Use the same data as for encoder pulse divider setting:
k = encoder pulse divider preset value (2, 4, 8, 16, etc.; 1 if not exists),
n = encoder increments per revolution (100, 512, 1024, 4096, etc.),
s = lift travel distance per one encoder revolution. If encoder is mounted on the motor then
this is pulley diameter [mm] * 3.14 / gearbox ratio. Eventual roping ratio must be included
in gearbox ratio!
linc (S04) = one encoder increment in millimeters

Calculation formula: linc=k*s/n

Example of calculation:
linc=2*1570mm/1024 = 3,07mm -> write 307 to S04

S05 Distance of switch slow down [mm]

Distance between slow down point and stop point for normal speed in millimeters. Table
bellow shows approximate values for linear ramp:

Slowing down Deceleration Time of

Speed [m/s] distance [m] [m/s2] deceleration [s]
0,3 0,30 0,15 2,0
0,6 0,70 0,26 2,3
1 1,20 0,42 2,4
1,2 1,50 0,48 2,5
1,6 2,10 0,61 2,6
1,8 2,50 0,65 2,8
2 3,00 0,67 3,0
2,3 3,80 0,70 3,3
2,6 4,50 0,75 3,5

S06 Distance of switch slow up [mm]

Distance between slow up point and stop point for normal speed in millimeters.

S07 Distance of sw. slow down - short drive [mm]

Distance between slow down point and stop point for short drive speed in millimeters.

S08 Distance of sw. slow up - short drive [mm]

Distance between slow up point and stop point for short drive speed in millimeters.

S09 Length of short drive [mm]

This function is used with VVVF regulation. If call is in area of this distance, elevator will
start with middle speed.
&$87,21
Parameter Short drive (P17) should be set to one if short drive function is needed!

S11 Length of slow speed switch (read only) [mm]

Calculated length of slow speed switch - read only.

S12 Learning OK (read only)

Learning was carried out correctly – read only.

S20 – …Position of floor 1…n - landing zone bottom [mm]

Shows level of “Stop in station down” switching on when lift approaches the station from
lower side. Value is automatically calculated in “Learning” function and cannot be manually
adjusted.

S21 – …Position of floor 1…n - landing zone top [mm]

Shows level of “Stop in station up” switching on when lift approaches the station from upper
side. Value is automatically calculated in “Learning” function and cannot be manually
adjusted.

S116 – …Position of floor 1…n [mm]

It means position of station in millimeters. Value is automatically calculated in “Learning”
function and cannot be manually adjusted.
