What this Reiki is For

This energy will show you the various ways that flowering plants use to
defend themselves from predatory insects. There is a thinking in certain
magic circles that herbs and flowers are just there for decoration, that all
magic and energy work is mental. Well, try using telepathy on mosquitoes!
Try compelling bedbugs to stay away by a talisman!

Plants have been dealing with bugs for millions of years before humans
existed and I have to think that along with these techniques, the nature
spirits who love plants have given them some spiritual energy shields as well.

We can ask to share in these vibrations.

Without further ado, here are some tricky plant defenses:

Citrus plants

There is a substance called limonene in the skin and

leaves of citrus plants which bugs dislike. We use it in
the lotion ingredient citronella. It smells rather nice
to humans, and doesn’t harm us. In the same way
bedbugs dislike the smell of the herb Thyme.

Pines and other conifers

Bugs prefer sickly plants with yellow-green leaves so

evergreens choose to grow with very dark green
colors and have a strong scent which also protects
them. Their needles do not invite browsing from
bigger predators, either. Evergreens are reputed to
be very spiritual and some of them were used to clean
people from negativity through washing in the smoke
of their burning limbs. This is called “smudging.”
 Pyrethrum Daisy

This flower has a certain dust which can

kill insects in its petals. We dry them and
use pyrethrum in our own defense. It is
so powerful you should cover the fish
tanks in your house if you use it.

African Violet

These plants have naturally “hairy” leaves and

stems and blossoms which discourage bugs
from climbing on them and eating from them.

The plants grow in hot and dry places in the

shade and can conserve water very nicely.

The African violet nature spirits are very wise

and fearless.

Sundew

Now we come to the place where the plant

turns about the relationships and actually
learns to eat insects.

Sundews have naturally sticky prongs which

hold bugs and then digest them. Nothing is
going to snack on these flowers!
Using this energy

Just beam a friendly vibration to these plants in your imagination and ask
for their help in your own astral and emotional defenses.
