warm-up Write formal and casual on the board. Point to students’ clothing and name items that are examples of casual and formal clothing. If no one is wearing formal clothing, such as a suit or dress, show or draw pictures of these items. Write the following questions on the board:

When do you wear casual clothes? When do you wear formal clothes? Students can discuss the questions in pairs before reviewing with the rest of the class.

You might need to help them with some preparation during class. When they give their presentations, make notes about the content and the presentation style.
