1.1 Overview of Scope
After evaluation of the inputs from the Field Inspection, Decision Sheets were prepared, and
it has been concluded that the following equipment foundations at the Umm Qasr Storage
Terminal require repairs:
1) Foundations of Industrial Water Pump (6600-P-2B)
Foundation drawings and photographs of the existing drawings taken during the Field
Inspection referenced in Section 2.
Demolition and Repairs works shall be carried out in accordance with the Project
Specification for Concrete Repair and Concrete Works Specification referenced in Section 2
Piping Demolition scopes are excluded from this work pack. Reference of associated
demolition work pack for piping as included in below table.

Live process equipment, piping, structures and other facilities may be present
in and around the worksite during the repair work. The contractor shall take all
reasonable precautions to identify and protect these facilities from damage
during the repair work and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment on
site. The contractor is the responsible to get Permit to Work to perform the

The Scope of Work involves the following:
 Preparation of pre-repair documentation: CONTRACTOR shall first prepare a site

interface drawing for each foundation and adjacent pipe support foundation to be
repaired. Areas to be repaired shall be clearly marked out on drawing, and photographs
taken of each equipment foundation and pipe support foundation.
 Before starting the repair works CONTRACTOR shall ensure that Industrial Water Pump
shall be removed from foundation or isolated
 CONTRACTOR shall follow the sequence of concrete demolished and repair works for
Industrial Water Pump foundations as directed and approved by BGC.

 CONTRACTOR shall remove and clean the dust from foundation and from surrounding
area prior to start the repair works
 Equipment’s to be used for the repair shall be reviewed by BGC operation team for
acceptance.
 Protection of all adjacent equipment / structures / foundations against dust, demolition

debris, water etc. prior to commencing repair works.
 All the existing pipe support foundations close to this equipment foundation shall be
demolished and reinstated to avoid any obstruction during the repair works, temporary
pipe supports shall be arranged by the contractor for the pipes with prior approval from
the company.
 All materials including anchor bolts, grouting, concrete back fill etc. must be approved
prior to execution of work by BGC supervision staff.
 The demolished & loose concrete shall be carted away to the approved dumping area.
Any underground services found present shall be properly protected.
 Before re-instatement of the grade slab if any the sub base shall be properly compacted
as per the specification referenced in Section 2.
 Marking out the areas to be repaired on sides of foundation. Carrying out deep skin
repair to the sides of foundation as shown in attached drawings in section -2 and as per
concrete Repair and Concrete Works Specifications referenced in Section 2.
 Carrying out replacement of cracked grout around base plates of Pumps as per concrete
Repair and Concrete Works Specifications referenced in Section 2.
 CONTRACTOR shall ensure that top of concrete should be chipped before doing the
grout works as shown in attached drawings in section 2and as per Concrete Repair and
Concrete Works Specification referenced in section 2.
 Applying protective coating to sides of repaired foundations and pedestals as per

Concrete Repair and Concrete Works Specifications referenced in Section 2.
 Providing 25mm thick isolation joint all around pump foundations with joint filler and
sealant as per Concrete Repair and Concrete Works Specifications referenced in Section
2.
 Reinstatement of thick grade slab with structural concrete (28 N/mm2 28day cylinder
strength) and reinforcement (ASTM A615 Grade 60) in accordance with concrete Repair
and Concrete Works Specifications referenced in Section 2.
 Preparing post-repair documentation: drawings with details of repair works carried out
markups, photographs and test reports as specified in Concrete Repair Specifications.
 Updating Bill of Quantities, based on the actual quantum of repair works carried out.

1.2 Site Queries:
Refer any site queries with this Work Pack to Project Manager by e-mail to
barry.bradley1@woodgroup.com, with a copy being cc’d to DCC on
WG_BGC.DCC@woodgroup.com All TQs are to be accompanied by a standard Query
Form.
In the event of a TQ being raised, the TQ will be included in Attachment 7.
Any deviations to the design requirements / Work pack instructions to be

authorised by the relevant query procedure.

1.3 Close-out Review:

When implementation is complete and RFC is obtained, WG shall update drawings to
“as-built” in accordance with the red-line mark-ups completed and returned to WG by
BGC.
Upon scope completion, the Work pack close-out checklist will be completed and
signed-off to confirm Work pack completion and closure.

1.4 Definitions:
