Dynamic behavior of electric drives: Torques acting in a drive system; Referring torque and moment of inertia from one axis to other axis; Energy losses in transient; Operation of electric motors in motoring and braking modes; Starting of electric motors
3. Power converters to supply electric drives: Semiconductor
devices; Single-phase AC-DC converters; Three-phase AC-DC converters; DC-DC converters; Single-phase and three-phase DC-AC inverters; AC-AC converters; Control circuits for power converters. 4. Electric drives and Control: Electric drive system model; Controller design for DC motors, Induction motors, and Brushless DC motors; Feedback elements. 5. Motor rating selection: Heating and motor power rating; Load diagram; Motor selection for continuous duty, intermittent duty and short time duty.
